December 30. Seemed to be getting a sore throat last night. Back was hurting too so slept very restlessly. The Lord used my pain and restless night to stir me to pray for a friend. It got very warm during the night too.
Today was a stay-at-home day -- very rainy with some thunder and lightning. There was flash flooding in several areas of the county. Wrote a few more e-mails today. This evening, a church function was planned with a time of fellowship and games before time in the Word. Because of the weather, we didn’t go out. I had planned not to go even if the others did go because it is too easy for me to fall when the ground is so wet, and also because of my throat being sore.
“3Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” II Corinthians 1:3,4
December 31. The last day of December and last day of 2015. It hardly seems possible.
Around 8:45, we left the house to go to the DMV, Verizon, and Big Lots. DMV was still too busy so we didn’t stay.
Next stop was Big Lots to look for a thinner blanket because it has been too hot at night for the comforter. But they only had warm winter blankets and comforters. Just bought a few food items and then went across the highway to look at Harbor Freight. Daddy wanted to see what they have for tools. He needs to get some tools to put in the car. Didn’t buy anything today, but can go back later.
Last of all, we went to Verizon. We were ten minutes early so sat and waited in the car until almost 10:00. Lots of other people were waiting too. When the doors opened, there were a number of workers waiting right there at the door to serve those who came in. Now that’s a good way to do service. We were in Verizon for about an hour, and arrived home around 11:00.
Today most of my work time was spent working on the “Love, Mercy, Grace” file. This evening I proofread through about half of the Sunday school lessons that Christy had printed out and brought to me for that purpose.
Late afternoon, C&C came and stayed until almost 9:00. Christy will get off at noon tomorrow, New Years Day.
“6For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” II Corinthians 4:6,7
