January 1, 2016. The beginning of a new year. We decided to go out shopping today since we are getting low on food. Left a little after 9:00 and went first to Big Lots to get insoles for Daddy, Keurig reuseable coffee filters (which we saw there yesterday), and Folgers decaf coffee. Next to WalMart to get a few things, some of which we didn’t find. From there we went to Aldi, but it was closed so we didn’t replenish much of our food supply after all. Then we went to the new Rescue Mission Thrift Store on Washington St. I was thankful to find a few warm blouses there. Everything is half price right now.
By the time we got home, it was dinner time.
While we were napping, Christy and Connie came.
This afternoon, I tried working more on the Love, Mercy, Grace file; but it has been hard to concentrate today. Have a bad sore on the roof of my mouth, and it makes the whole right side of my face hurt and has given me a bad headache.
January 2. Started having pains in my stomach during the night, which felt worse when I slept on my back so kept turning from side to side. Had some papaya enzymes when I got up in the middle of the night. After I was up for a while this morning, I felt like throwing up so took activated charcoal and have taken that often throughout the day. I feel hungry, but when I eat I feel sick; but when I don’t eat, I feel sick.
Made a few pancakes this morning for Daddy. Then added pecans and blueberries to the batter to make pancakes for myself.
Did a couple loads of wash and wrote a few e-mails. Went to Aldi to get the groceries we couldn’t get yesterday since it was closed. Started to go to WalMart too, but figured it wouldn’t be worth it for just one item, and I wasn’t feeling well besides. Made a quick stop at Big Lots, and Daddy ran in to get grape juice and All-Bran.
Got home around 12:30 and had lunch. Christy and Connie didn’t get here until about 1:30. They spent more time shopping than we did.
Didn’t sleep very long at nap time. This afternoon, I worked more on Love, Mercy, Grace and finished the Mercy section this evening. Now I just have Grace to do.
“16For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 17For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” II Corinthians 4:16-18
