March 8. Strong, gusty winds were whipping through the house and whipping the silver paper up and down when I woke up around 2:00 this morning. The winds continued through the night and throughout the day today, blowing strong and steadily for a while, and then suddenly gaining a burst of extra strength getting louder and louder like a train coming down the tracks before fading off into the distance. Things seem relatively calm this evening.
This morning I made pancakes for Daddy and muffins for myself. I thought my muffins would never get done, and I was getting hungrier and hungrier. The rats have taken away most of the oven insulation so it does not work well any more. Finally my muffins got done, and I enjoyed four fresh, hot, buttered banana muffins for my breakfast.
After breakfast and quiet time, I punched holes in the new soul-winning lessons and also stapled together the two new song books that had been printed yesterday evening. Then Daddy turned on the generator for a while, and I printed out tax forms for him.
It was 10:30 or so before the meeting started this morning. Matthew did not preach today since he has a bad cold. David took the morning meeting, and there was no afternoon meeting.
After nap today, I wrote an e-mail to Christy and Connie, wrote the new Bible verse on the chalkboard, and made a meat pie for supper.
This evening, I wrote several more e-mails, sorted out a few things to try to sell tomorrow at the school sale, and did the dishes. Daddy was busy with soul-winning class.
“And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” Luke 18:27
March 9. No sunshine today. Chilly and blustery again. The winds whipped and whirled and whined and whistled and whooed all night long again too.
Today has been busy with taking care of the daily chores around the house, teaching school, and waiting on people who came to buy things.
“29And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, 30Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.” Luke 18:29,30
