April 14. Sunny most of the morning and part of the afternoon. Raining this evening.
7:00 p.m. now. Just finished practicing music so I can practice with the students tomorrow. They will review some memory verses, review the Bible lesson, and then have the test on the lesson. After that, there should be a little time left to practice music for the anniversary meetings coming up next week.
Today they did their last phonics lesson and last English lesson for the term.
Just when we finished oral English class, SIL came. They brought some people from Mobutasa, some roofing iron which the national member for Obura/Wonenara provided for the people to build a coffee house at the airstrip, and a wheelbarrow that the EHP governor had provided for use in airstrip work.
After school, Graham took the spelling test that he missed Friday. Then we went for our nap - around 2:00.
After nap, I finished up today’s grading, got the grades recorded, and averaged up grades for the classes that we’ve completed.
When supper was over and dishes done, I looked over tomorrow’s lesson plans before playing keyboard.
“15For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: 16As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.” I Peter 2:15,16
April 15. Rained gently but steadily most of the night. A mostly cloudy day, and the fire has been kept burning. Raining gently again this evening.
Today the students had their last test for the term in Bible class. I thought it was an easy test and they would all get 100, but only 7 of them did. We had about 20 minutes left afterward to practice singing.
Only had the Bible test and the rest of their math lesson to grade today so that was all done by the time school was over. This afternoon, I searched for a couple more active games for the students to play on Friday. Then I finished organizing the game plan in the computer so I can print it out this evening. Made spaghetti for supper, and we had greens to go with it that I had cooked the other day.
“21For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: 24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 25For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.” I Peter 2:21-25
