March 18. Praise the Lord for a lovely day today. When I got up this morning and saw blue sky, I thought, maybe we should wash clothes today while there is blue sky. One never knows what the weather will be tomorrow. There was no hurry though. We had our breakfast first -- warmed over pancakes -- and quiet time. Then I sorted the laundry, and Daddy started the generator. I was thankful for his help pulling the clothes out of the wash tub and also hanging them up. The sun was shining nicely when we went out to hang clothes, and it felt good to be out in the sunshine.
Esau and Sosthenes were out there cutting firewood. Steve was supposed to help too, but he had gone to Pinata with Javin and the others.
By the time we finished hanging out the clothes, I was tired. Had an early snack and went and lay down for a while. After my morning nap, I started writing the February progress report which was overdue. Daddy went out for a walk. Later I put the other piece of chicken on to cook for dinner and also a pot of rice. While those were cooking, Daddy noticed that the sky had turned gray and little rain drops were falling. So we went out to get the clothes in. We were thankful that most of them were dry.
Bonita came later in the morning and asked about cleaning out the ditch out back. It did need cleaning, and most of the other ones did too so Daddy said to have her check all of them and clean them as needed.
We had our lunch and afternoon nap. The sun was shining again when I got up from nap so I took advantage of that and went out to get some more sunshine. It was quite warm and humid out so didn’t stay out too long. Finished up the progress report and a couple e-mails, and got them sent off.

March 19. Both of us slept in a little later this morning. There was no hurry to get up. We had done the laundry yesterday, and we were thankful that we did. Just because we have sun one day does not mean there will be sun the next day. Woke up to a rainy, cool, cloudy morning. Strong winds blew me out of bed a little after 5:00. I got up and shut windows that Daddy had opened for the night.
After breakfast and quiet time, I tried doing a little walking. Then sat for a while in the recliner and finished Bible class lesson plans for the first week of the new term. After that, I went to the kitchen to bake – granola, and molasses ginger cookies. Yum! the cookies taste good. It has been a long time since we have had molasses so haven’t had any ginger cookies for ages. Of course, most of them are for Daddy, but I had to eat a couple while they were hot. That’s when they taste best.
Daddy had brought another oven rack home from town too. It was too big for our oven, but he was able to cut it down with the hack saw. So with two oven racks now, we should be able to save more on the bottled gas. That will be a blessing.
After everything was ready to bake and some was in the oven, Daddy turned on the generator for a half hour. So I got some music sheets scanned for keyboard class. Continued with other computer work after he shut off the generator.
Then it was time for a stretch break -- a nice little walk out in the sunshine. Yes, the Lord sent some nice sunshine along later in the morning. Came inside and put away the cookies. The granola wasn’t quite cool enough yet. Had a little nap just before dinner. Dinner was leftovers and then back down for our regular daily nap.
After nap, I cleaned the bathroom sink and toilet. Worked a while more at the computer. Then Daddy and I went out for another little walk. It was overcast, and the air was cool so I put my light jacket on. We went around and looked at some flowers and bushes that we would like to plant in the yard. Talked with Amos a bit - about the flowers and other things. He was out cutting grass on the hill behind his house.
Came in and practiced keyboard for a while. The school students said they want to practice after lotu tomorrow morning.
Then I relaxed in the recliner and got phonics lesson plans made for next week.
Had supper and did dishes. There were lots of dishes since I did baking this morning. Now it is time to relax for the evening.
