November 9. 5:45 p.m. and dishes are already done! That must be a first. I didn’t have anything extra to fix for supper tonight, and there weren’t very many dishes so we ate early and I did dishes right away afterward.
Heard the lotu bell at 5:40 this morning, but did not get up until Daddy came in at 6:00. Got dressed and had my early morning supplement. Then I went and took down the rest of the decorations.
Had breakfast and quiet time, and then it was time for lotu. Mike deviated from his series on love this morning and shared a number of verses about God’s promises, particularly the promise of eternal life.
After lotu, almost everyone went down to the river to help with Janeth’s peanut garden so it was pretty quiet around here most of the day.
Daddy and I took down all the stage curtains and Nebuchadnezzar’s golden image. The students and the parents want the drama to be presented again during the special meetings in January.
Got journal notes ready to go to Christy and Connie and also started an e-mail. Daddy went over to the airstrip to throw around a few shovels full of dirt and fill in some of the holes. After I shut down the computer, I took the camera and went for a little walk over to the airstrip. I was hoping the hawks would be flying around again so I could get a picture, but there weren’t any. I did get a few pictures of Daddy throwing dirt. :-) I helped stamp down the dirt after he put it in place. It was a beautiful morning - sunshine, blue sky, and some puffy clouds.
After we got back to the house, I put more pictures in the power point I am working on to go with next year’s drama presentation. About 11:45, I went to the kitchen to husk the corn and put it on to cook. The corn was nice and fresh and had some really nice corn silk on it. (Usually the corn we get has very dry, brown corn silk.) So I saved the corn silk to dry in the wood stove oven this evening. Then maybe I can make some corn silk tea. I saw that the kaukau was starting to get spots so decided I had better peel it and cook it too. Put all the corn and kaukau into the pressure cooker and got it on to cook about 12:15. When it was done cooking, I put the rest of the spaghetti on to warm. There wasn’t enough spaghetti sauce left so I added a can of Cheezy Beans. It was a little after 12:30 before we had our dinner.
Had about an hour nap, and then got the monthly updates ready to send to Christy for mailing. Took a break from computer and swept the meeting room. Then I came back and got the e-mail updates ready to go. Sent those off and received some e-mails too.
It is raining this evening. Daddy is getting the fire going so we can have a bath.
“13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” Galatians 3:13,14
