July 8. Praise the Lord for a fairly good sleep last night.
Today was another dry day. Mostly cloudy and cool this morning. Periods of sunshine -- more in the afternoon than in the morning.
Today was a busy day. Warmed up pancakes. Had quiet time and ate breakfast. Put eggs on the wood stove to boil for making egg salad later. Got all the trash together, and Daddy took it out and burned it later. Started putting together the visual for learning the books of the Old Testament and finished those after Sunny and Bonita started working. Also put together the 8 multiplication and division charts,
Sunny and Bonita came around 8:30. The first thing we had them do was grind rice to make rice cereal and rice flour. Sunny did most of the grinding, and Bonita swept floors while Sunny was grinding. Sunny also ground up some barley for flour. After that, Sunny scrubbed the outside of the gas stove, and Bonita scrubbed the rolling cart. Then Bonita started washing the office and kitchen floors, and Sunny went around with the dustpan and brush sweeping up dirt that Bonita didn’t get with the broom. When Bonita got part of the kitchen floor washed, she turned the mop over to Sunny, and Bonita started drying the floors. While Bonita finished drying the floors, Sunny cleaned the dried mud off our town shoes. Then she washed off Daddy’s shoes. My shoes will go in the washing machine tomorrow. They cleaned out the mop and bucket, and by then it was 11;30. So we called it a day, and I asked them to come back tomorrow. There is lots more cleaning that needs to be done.
I cleaned out a couple more boxes of things for selling or giving away and organized them with the other stuff. Got bread made and in the pans to rise. Cut up carrots to cook for dinner, and made spaghetti.
After nap, I got the bread put in the oven. Cut up a popo. Put away some things I had moved in the morning so they could sweep and mop in places that hadn’t been done in a long time. Reorganized some things in the office. Then after snack, Daddy and I went for a short walk. It was nice outside, and there was a gentle, warm breeze.
When we came back, I made song sheets (in the computer) for the Books of the Old Testament song. (Need to print those out this evening.) There were LOTS of dishes to do this evening.

July 9. Another dry day, but got pretty cold overnight, and there have been cold winds blowing throughout the day. The Lord gave us nice sunshine this morning, but more clouds this afternoon.
After my early morning health drinks, I sorted out the clothes, and then Daddy turned on the generator so we could start the wash. Fixed and ate my breakfast, read Bible, and had some prayer time while the clothes were washing. Only did two loads of clothes today, but did a blanket in a third load, and my town shoes and yesterday’s rags in a fourth half-load. So it took a while to get everything done.
The girls came to work just before clothes were ready to hang out. I was going out with the blanket to hang it on the line. After that, I had the girls come in and start shelling peanuts while we finished up the wash and went out to hang the clothes. It was nice to get out in the sunshine, and it didn’t take long for the clothes to dry with the nice sunshine and all the wind.
The girls were just finishing up the peanuts when we came back inside. We divided the peanuts up into three trays, and Bonita took them out and put them in the sun to dry. Their next job was to sort, wash, and cut up onions and greens to be cooked for dinner.
The rest of the morning, they did cleaning. First, the laundry room, dusting and washing the shelves and wash table, and then sweeping and washing the floor. The bamboo floor was done on hands and knees with scrub brushes. While they were doing that, I got everything out of the bathroom cupboards so those could be cleaned. They needed to be dusted and washed; and the bathroom floor needed to be swept and washed. That floor too was done on hands and knees. By then it was 11:30 and time to call it quits for today.
Daniel came this morning as well. First he fixed the southwest corner of the fence so kids and animals can’t crawl underneath it. Then he came inside, and he and Daddy started the job of putting plastic around the kitchen window to try to prevent the rain from coming inside when we have a storm that blows from the south. Daniel had to put some poles here and there first so he would have something to nail the plastic to. He got the east side and the top finished, and will finish the other two sides tomorrow.
Besides cleaning stuff out of cupboards this morning and supervising the work, I got the students’ reminders cut out for memorizing the books of the Old Testament. Later in the morning, I wrote a couple e-mails and sent them, and got the greens cooking. While Daddy and Daniel finished up what they were doing, I went out and got the clothes down. Then I warmed up dinner. It was about 12:45 before we ate and after 1:30 before we went to nap. It was almost 3:00 when I got up.
This afternoon, I went through some of the bathroom items, got rid of a few things, reorganized other things, and got things put away. Still have one more box of things that needs to be put away. Just before supper, I sat for a while at the computer and started putting the students’ music lessons into a separate file.
