October 1. It was cold this morning, but Daddy didn’t get up and make a fire. He was still feeling weak. It wasn’t long, however, before the sun came up, and it turned out to be a nice morning. This afternoon, I went out for a few minutes to walk around, but it was very humid out there so I knew rain was coming again.
Amos finished Acts chapter 9 in lotu this morning, the story of Tabitha. Daddy did not go to lotu. This evening, however, he seems to be feeling much better than last night and better than this morning. I was still feeling a bit funny this morning so took more activated charcoal. We figured we must have gotten food poisoning so did not eat the rest of the pizza today. Too bad. It did taste good. For supper I fixed rice with soup beans and tuna, and Sunny had prepared greens for me after school so I cooked up those.
In phonics class this morning, we did some review before the students took their phonics test. They all did well on the test. After that, we started reviewing the stories from our reading class. We’ll finish that review in the morning, and then they can have their reading test.
They are having quite a time in English getting hold of the forms of the “be” verb. Maybe one of these days, they’ll get it.
Daddy was busy today making phone calls and trying to make arrangements to get out to town. MAF can’t take him out on the day he booked (next Tuesday), but can get him out this Friday. So he has been busy packing and getting ready. They can’t bring him in next week either so looks like he’ll be out two weekends. That’s a LONG time.
After supper, I practiced keyboard. ([Please pray that we will be able to] to renew our passports and work permits which expire in February.) After that I had a bath, and then we got the shopping list made. Then it was time to do dishes. So it has been a busy evening.
Amos was here this evening teaching the youth.
October 2. Raining this evening. Back to cool and cloudy again today. Daddy has kept the home fires burning.
This morning, the students had their Bible/music test, and most of them got 100. We had a little time left at the end to pass out the program booklets for the end-of-school drama and to take a quick look through them.
Everyone did well on their reading test too. I gave away quite a few stickers. They finished early, but there wasn’t enough time to start something else so we took an early recess and then started math class early. They had time to do a whole math lesson today, and two or three of them got 100 on their lesson.
Really zonked out at nap time this afternoon. My stomach still isn’t feeling quite up to par. Daddy seems to be doing okay and has been busy packing and getting ready to go to town tomorrow. We are asking the Lord for good weather for the flight and for the time he will be in town. He is packing extra things to do since he will be there two weekends.
Had a few more math lessons to grade after nap and then the science workbooks. Got things ready for tomorrow’s classes and had about 20 minutes to practice keyboard before getting supper on.
