June 5. Slept in until about 6:30 this morning. I was glad for the extra rest as I haven’t been able to rest much at nap time the past couple days.
Matthew had care of lotu today and continued the talk he started last time about believers being new creatures and the things that change in a believer’s life. Last time he gave a general overview, and today he covered the first point - a new mind.
We got just a little bit early start on school, but didn’t finish any earlier. I was hoping we would so I could go for earlier nap and be able to get more done afterward. There was hair to wash, grading to finish up, and cookies to make for Daddy. Daddy got the wood stove going again this afternoon as the weather was quite cool. I was very thankful for his help with dishes this evening. While he was finishing up dishes, I worked on some songs that the keyboard students will be learning to play.
Daddy is now in the other room with the Bible school students. It is already just about 8:00, and I have just gotten to the computer. The generator is acting up quite a bit this evening.
“And we declare unto you glad tidings….” Acts 13:32
June 6. When we got up this morning, the skies were clear, and it looked like it was going to be a nice sunny day. However, before mid-morning, the skies had turned gray, and the air chilly. Daddy has kept the wood stove going all day. Even with the wood stove going, it is still cool in the house.
Fixed hot rice cereal for breakfast this morning. While I was waiting for it to get done, I cut some little flash cards (which I had forgotten about last night) so the students could make their 7-multiplication flash cards today in math class.
In Bible class, we started studying the gospel of John. We’ll do that study the first half of each class. The second half of class, we finished the story of the resurrection and ascension of Christ.
It was a blessing to get a fairly good rest at nap time today. And also not to have much grading to do. So I had a little time this afternoon to go over the songs Dallas and Phinehas will be assigned in keyboard class tomorrow and then write an e-mail and start on journal notes for Chrsity and Connie before getting supper.
There weren’t very many dishes this evening either so it didn’t take long to get those done. After doing all the dishes, I got out a rag and some cleaner and cleaned up the big kettle that we heat dish water in. It had gotten streaks of something brown on it and looked yucky. So now it looks shiny and clean.
“38Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: 39And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.” Acts 13:38,39
