July 31. 9:00 p.m. Raining. The Lord gave us a nice morning again; but in the afternoon, He sent clouds and strong, cool winds.
Started making a list this morning of projects I need to work on while Daddy is in town. This afternoon, I had quite a bit of schoolwork to grade and things to prepare for school tomorrow. Practiced keyboard a while so I’ll be ready for music class tomorrow. Then I made a batch of low-sugar brownies - Judy’s own recipe. Tasted pretty yummy to me, but not sweet enough for Daddy. But he can eat them, with extra sugar if he wants, in his bowl of cookies and milk that he has in the evening. Also made a pizza for supper.
After supper, I wrote a couple e-mails. Was surprised how quickly they went out this evening. We even had 785KB of e-mails come in. Started looking at the e-mails while the dish water was heating. Then did the dishes, cut up an over-ripe popo and put it on to cook, and got my evening snack.
No generator on this evening. Not much left in the fridge.
“6And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: 7So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.” I Thessalonians 1:6,7
August 1. A new month.
Not much new in the weather. A mostly sunny morning after the fog lifted. Then clouds and cool wind again late morning and in the afternoon.
A new illness - my turn to get the flu now. We figured these bad colds that are going around must be some kind of flu because it is obviously epidemic. Even though I’ve been on antibiotic for the typhoid, it didn’t keep me from getting the flu. We realized anyway, that it wasn’t a bacterial infection. Others have had shots that didn’t help, and Tomas said that he and Rebeka tried taking some amoxicillin that Philemon had left for them, but it didn’t help. Wenera came today and said that he had the flu and has been fighting the cold for four weeks now. He said there is flu, measles, and typhoid going around the whole country. He came for the bride-buying for his daughter Singinis.
I’m thankful that the weekend is here and that there is no school next week so I should be able to rest. Daddy is still not feeling very strong so we are praying for strength for him for the week of shopping coming up.
After school today, the boys left to go to town. They will meet Daddy there on Monday.
I had a long nap this afternoon, although I didn’t really sleep well.
Fixed a pot of rice and lentils with onions and tuna for our supper. We had leftover pumpkin.
Then this evening, we had to do laundry. I didn’t really feel like doing laundry, but it had to be done. Now we have to do dishes too.
“ But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.” I Thessalonians 2:4
