September 10. Woke up to rain this morning, but later the skies partly cleared, and the Lord gave us sunshine and a warm day.
After breakfast and quiet time this morning, I was able to walk and pray a little bit. Then when Daddy turned on the generator, I started on the third quarter financial report.
In Bible class, we started learning the books of the New Testament. Some of the kids already knew the tune for the song. They said they had learned it in school with Titus.
In English we started learning the “th” digraph. They had quite a time with that. I told them I will not let them get by anymore with saying “duh” for “the” or “fada” for “father,” etc.
In science, they had fun doing some experiments with water. We covered liquid and solid, but did not get to gas yet.
It was late when we had dinner — 1:00, and after 1:30 when we went for nap.
MAF came this afternoon with some EBC women on their way to Pinata for a ladies’ meeting. Jason brought us some coconut milk which we had requested, but did not find any baking soda. His wife shared part of hers. They also sent us some carrots, tomatoes, broccoli, and strawberries. Jason and family have been a blessing to us.
After nap, I washed my hair, cut up a popo which we had for snack with bananas and strawberries; graded papers; and started getting things together for class tomorrow.
After supper, I got the trash together to be burned and then did dishes. It took a while this evening to finish getting things together for tomorrow. It is going on 9:00 already. I have water on heating now for a little bath.
“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.“ III John 4
September 11. The Lord gave us a mostly sunny, dry day with a few drops of rain this evening.
Almost everybody is down at Yonupeq (the big river valley) digging ground and planting peanut gardens. So we don’t expect many here for lotu tomorrow morning. The men who come to English class said they would come back up for lotu so they can be here for English class.
This morning, I took time to make myself some pancakes. Had gotten up a little bit early anyway. The sun comes up earlier now. I didn’t have time to walk though before the school kids started arriving.
NTM came this morning and brought our bottled gas.
After school today, Steve and Sosthenes chopped firewood, and Sunny and Bonita prepared vegetables and washed windows. Daddy and I had our lunch, but waited until after the girls left before we had nap. I was able to get most of the grading done during that time.
After nap, I finished grading and started getting things ready for tomorrow. Then I fixed spaghetti for supper, cooked the greens that the girls had prepared and the rest of the pumpkin that Daddy had cut up the other day.
There were lots of dishes tonight. After they were done, there was more to do to get ready for school tomorrow. Heated bath water while I was working on that. After bath, I printed out Bible school lessons.
“ I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.” Jude 5
“17But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.” Jude 17,18
