January 16.
Praise the Lord for a lovely sunny morning and most of the afternoon. Raining this evening. The weather was nice early so Daddy went to lotu this morning. I spent some time praying at the house.
Serah came at 8:00, right after lotu, to wash clothes. I printed out copies of Matyu for Daddy and me, a copy of Rom for Nuanda, notes for Daddy to use with the men tomorrow afternoon, and a copy of the ministry update to proofread. I proofread it, and didn’t even catch the mistake. So I was glad Daddy proofread it too.
After that, I put a coat of clear gloss on Connie’s happy picture. Then I made the bed. Nuanda came to get his youth meeting notes he had given us to photo copy. We gave him the copy of Rom too. After he left, I started the soup going for dinner. Since it was such a nice morning, I decided to go out and plant the other corn seeds while the soup was cooking. I hung the sonic mosquito repeller on my dress in hopes of keeping the mosquitoes away. Wasn’t out there very long, but got probably a dozen bites. My did they itch! And the one on my wrist swelled up really big. Took apis mel when I saw it was swelling. Took more before nap since it was still quite swollen. (We remembered a bit later that last year we had to put kerosene down the garbage hole during the rainy season. It gets lots of water in it, and the mosquitoes breed in there. So the day before we came to town, Daddy went out and poured kerosene down the garbage hole.)
Felt somewhat lazy after nap this afternoon. Was having a hard time getting my mind onto what to do. Crocheted for a while. Cleaned the bathroom. Later in the afternoon, I went outside for a little walk around the flower garden. Neomi’s mother was going by, so she stopped to say hello, and wanted to come in and have the Bible read to her. So I invited her in, and read John chapter 21. Was glad I didn’t stay out long. Even up here close to the house, I got a mosquito bite in the few minutes I was out. This time it was on the back of my other hand, and it too started swelling up. Took apis mel right away. There must be a new brand of mosquitoes, or else I’ve gotten allergic to their bites. Never had a problem before.
After Neomi’s mother left, I played keyboard for a few minutes before getting supper. Played a bit more after supper, and sang a little. I’m so thankful for the comforting and encouraging words of so many of the hymns.
The mercies of God! what a theme for my song,
O! I never could number them o’er;
They’re more than the starts in the heavenly dome,
Or the sands of the wave-beaten shore.
For mercies so great, what return can I make?
For mercies so constant and sure?
I’ll love Him, I’ll serve Him with all that I have
As long as my life shall endure.

January 17.
Today’s weather was certainly different from yesterday’s. Lots of clouds and fog, maybe a little sunshine. It was still very cool and cloudy at lotu time, so I did not go out today. Spent some time working on a youth lesson. Spent some time in prayer for the meeting this morning and for the meeting with leaders this afternoon. There was only one church meeting today.
Must have been close to 4:30 before we got to nap. Just had a short nap. Then supper. Generator on tonight so did a little work in the Acer. Also did a bit of laundry.
January 18.
The Lord is certainly watering the ridges abundantly. About .7 inch during the night. Mostly cloudy all day.
Daddy and I rechecked Matyu 1 this morning. After that, I spent until mid-morning packing. Then I worked on a Sunday school lesson in the computer for a while before dinner.
Daddy went up to the airstrip around 10:00 and raked grass. Men were working on cutting the rest of it. Daddy got back at dinner time. Said the strip is very wet. Not sure if the plane will be able to get in tomorrow, or not.
This afternoon, I washed hair. Swept floors. (Looked like somebody feasted on moths and cockroaches last night. There were moth and cockroach wings all over the kitchen floor this morning.) Worked on outlining Acts 15. Played keyboard.
After supper, I did dishes. Then sat and crocheted a little while, while bath water was heating.
