December 24. Cloudy, cool, and drizzly all day today.
Amos taught this morning from Acts 12:12-17, Peter’s arrival at the home of Mary where the believers were praying for him. He emphasized how God answers prayer, and afterward Matthew spent a little more time talking about the need for prayer. There was a good group here this morning, and there are many needs for prayer right now. Apekio shared last night her burden for their marriage.
After the meeting, people stayed around and talked for quite a while. Philemon told more stories about his life and work in Kudjip.
After everyone left, Daddy turned on the generator, and Bonita came to work. I printed out seven song books that were ordered this morning. Philemon had ordered first and paid so I printed his out first and stapled it together; and since he was still standing around outside, Daddy called him in to get it. When the others saw his song book, six more put in their orders, but not all of them have paid yet. Gibson paid for his so when he came back later to get his phone that had been charged, we gave him his copy.
Bonita’s jobs this morning were folding clothes, sorting plastic bags, sweeping the floor, and collating the song books.
After Bonita left, I had a snack and did some more cleaning out of things in our bedroom closet. Mattthew came by to talk with Daddy about the pastors and deacons.
Then Daddy and I went for a short walk. As we started out on our walk, we met an older couple coming up from Ahnyauntapeq going up to Yerox for a court for Senka.
This afternoon, I got the income report up to date and then worked more on the bedroom closet.
“And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” Mark 10:27
December 25. Not much sun again today, but no rain until this evening.
Bonita did not come to work today. She wanted to take the day off, and that was fine. I gave her that option.
I cleaned out the top shelf of the closet above the clothes so I could put the curtains back up. Also did some more cleaning out on the other shelves. Finished up the soul-winning lesson I had been working on and printed out a copy for Daddy to proofread. Then I discovered that I had never printed out the one before that so printed out that one this evening as he will need that one first.
After morning snack, we went for a walk - quite a bit longer walk than usual. This time we went around the “block” - up the airstrip, across to Tomas’s house, and down by Matthew’s house to our house. We were out about 45 minutes. Talked to a number of people along the way.
After we got back, I rested at the computer, working on the PNG history/geography course. Then I made a meat pie for our dinner.
This afternoon, I washed my hair and worked more on the history/geography course. This evening, I finished proofreading through unit three. Two more units to go. Also printed a couple more song books - one for Wilson and one for Bonita. The youth were here practicing music this evening to sing during the special meetings next week.
“29And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, 30But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.” Mark 10:29,30
