Below is a wonderful, encouraging salvation story from the August 8 entry in Mom's journal. May it encourage your hearts.
August 8. After I had finished writing in my journal yesterday evening and was getting pictures put into the computer, Daddy heard somebody cleaning off his shoes out on the porch. We wondered who was here, and obviously planned to come inside. Shortly there was a knock on the door. It was a young man. Daddy didn’t recognize him as his hairdo was quite different from what it used to be. He introduced himself as Maik. He obviously wanted to talk. He started telling about how he had left the church and left Bible school and gone to the SDA church. However, he knew the SDA church was not right so he left there, and now he had come because he wanted to get his life right. Daddy had him sit down, and the first thing he asked him was whether or not he had been saved before. He was not sure that he had. So Daddy went through the plan of salvation with him. And, to make a long story short, he acknowledged his sin and trusted Christ as his Savior. Praise the Lord, there’s a new name written down in glory; a sinner has come home. Daddy then talked with him about the need to be baptized and meet with other believers. Maik asked some questions on things he wasn’t clear about, and we gave him copies of the doctrinal booklets on salvation, repentance, and faith, so he could be clear on those areas, and could also share them with his wife and his family. He was also encouraged to tell his family about his salvation. He seemed much happier when he left, and Daddy told him to come back another time, and he would talk with him about baptism and anything else he may have questions on. He wanted to know if he could bring his wife Lalinda as well. Of course, he can. Thank you, Lord, for answered prayer for the life of Maik.
