Was very, very sleepy last night. Went to bed around 8:30, after we worked on Mark. Daddy went to bed around 9:30. I was very warm all night. Wonder if I wouldn’t have a fever too if I weren’t on a parasite treatment. Have been quite warm for a week or more now. Have really longed for something cold to drink, fridge cold, that is.
Daddy’s fever was down a bit this morning, but went up during the daytime. He felt weak and wasn’t sure if he would be able to handle Bible school, but the Lord helped him through the morning.
Before he left for Bible school, we finished studying John 5 together. Much meat to chew on in there. After he left, I had more prayer time, and worked on lesson preparation for ladies’ meeting tomorrow night.
When Serah came to work, Jokapet came for computer lesson. While she was computering, I found pictures and pasted them on the verse cards I had printed out last week some time. After she left, I started working on ladies’ meeting notes for later, but it wasn’t long before Serah was done with work so I took time to do Bible study with her. Today we talked about the suffering of Christ in Gethsamane, His arrest, and the beginning of His trial.
After Serah left, I started dinner. Then Neomi’s mother came by with a letter for Christy she had had someone write for her. Read to her from John before she left. Wan and Gibson came later this morning too and worked more on the foundation stones. They worked again this afternoon. Got all the stones laid, and three posts cut. At one point, they left to get some stakes.
I worked more on ladies’ meeting notes this afternoon. Then worked on some of the verses to go with the counseling notes that Bro. Ogle left us. Am getting all the Old Testament verses together to print out. Some of them will have to be translated. Then we’ll have to print them out and proofread them.
Felt like I was having a kidney infection today. Back was hurting quite a bit and legs were weak. Still feeling quite hot all day, but don’t register any fever. Daddy was still running fever most of the day today. But still nothing much else for symptoms.
Jevin said that Judy is doing better today. Her fever is down and the diarrhea has stopped. Praise the Lord for answering prayer.
November 13.
It’s Friday the 13th, 6:30 p.m. It is supposed to be ladies’ meeting night, but it has been raining since about 4:00 this afternoon. Rained really hard with strong winds. The temperature dropped considerably, and it felt icy cold in the office. Rains came into the living room and into the laundry room.
Last evening, Matyu’s group finished checking Romans 14. Matyu wasn’t here — he had cut his foot very badly on wild bamboo. Had to have quite a few stitches. Tomas took charge of the group. They finished about 8:30, and went home early. Daniel’s group finished checking the last three verses of Acts 12. Then Erik’s group finished translating Matyu 4, and Daniel’s group worked on Acts 13. Everyone left sort of early, and we went to bed early again, around 9:30.
It was raining when we went to bed, but that is nothing unusual. About 11:00, however, I was awakened by a light shining on the ceiling of our bedroom. I couldn’t figure out why Daddy had his flashlight on and was shining it at the ceiling. As soon as I got awake enough, it didn’t take me long to figure out why. We were swimming in our bed. It apparently had rained quite hard, and there was a hole in the roof right above the middle of the bed. The roofing nail had loosened up enough to let in a good amount of rain. All the blankets and sheets were quite wet. And it was still raining. We took off all the bedding and hung it on the ropes in the bathroom and laundry room. Thankfully the mattresses weren’t wet. Got a plastic bag and some old towels and a bucket to put on the bed under the leak. Then went and made up the bed in Connie’s room. I hadn’t made it back up since Bro. Ogle was here. It was about 11:30 before we got back into bed. It was hard to sleep comfortably in a strange bed. Wan’s first job today was to pound down roofing nails and put hydroseal around them. There was 1.2” rain in the rain gauge this morning.
Daddy and I started studying II John this morning. Then Daddy went off to Bible school. He is feeling better today.
After my prayer time and lesson study time, Serah came to work, but Jokapet did not come. I figured she must have gone off to the garden somewhere. She came by later, and said that is where she was. There wasn’t much work for Serah today, and she was done in an hour. We had Bible study, covering Jesus’ trial under Pilate, and His crucifixion. Next time, we’ll talk more about the crucifixion and things related to Christ’s death.
This morning, I finished up the list of verses that we need for the counseling notes — some already translated and some needing to be. Then worked on meri bung notes, and later worked on youth meeting notes.
Wan and Gibson worked more today on the foundation poles. Have just a few left to do. Will probably do that next week. They got paid today.
“Dost thou hope for reward without labour, or honour without toil? Dismiss the idle expectation, and be content to take the ill-favoured things for the sake of the sweet love of Jesus, which will recompense thee for all. In such a spirit, labouring and suffering, thou wilt find bitters grow sweet, and hard things easy. Like Jacob, thy years of service will seem unto thee but a few days for the love thou hast to Jesus; and when the dear hour of the wedding feast shall come, all thy toils shall be as though they had never been — an hour with Jesus will make up for ages of pain and labour.”—Morning and Evening
