November 17.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!
Rained most of the night, as far as we know. We just weren’t awake all night. A little over 1 inch rain. A few short periods of sunshine today, but mostly cloudy. Periods of rain. Raining this evening.
Only four of Daniel’s group and five of Matyu’s came last night for translation. Matyu is still unable to be here because of his foot injury. Tomas took charge of his group again. They checked Romans 15:1-14. Daniel’s group worked on translating Acts 13. Erik worked with Daniel, Nuxawai, and Wan, as Devit didn’t come. We wondered why Devit wasn’t here, as he is usually very faithful. Found out this morning that there was a group of Okapa people staying at his house, and he was preaching to them. This morning, he came and got some tracts and took them up to the airstrip to give out to people waiting for the airplane.
NTM came in today and brought Sipora and Auri and Dr. Matyu. MAF came in three times to take out coffee and people.
Daddy and I finished checking Mark 10 today, and checked through verse 26 of chapter 11. Thank the Lord for His help.
I worked on putting some corrections in the computer. Also worked on the quarterly newsletter. Nuxawai came this morning and put his testimony on tape, and that is part of this quarter’s newsletter.
Played the keyboard a while after supper.
November 18.
A very quiet day. Just about everyone is gone from this part of the village, probably most of them to Ahninyauntapeq for the basketball tournaments.
Last evening, Serah and Epekio came for their second crochet lesson. They learned how to single crochet, and each made a little “rat” blanket with their little ball of scrap yarn. Epekio called it a rat blank because it was so small. I gave them each another scrap to take home and practice until next week.
We had .4” rain yesterday evening. Rained during the afternoon, and is raining again this evening.
Daddy and I started studying III John together this morning. Was encouraged by Gaius’s testimony as a man who not only knew, but walked in, the truth.
Serah came at 7:30 to do laundry. She hurried through dishes too, while the clothes were washing. Wanted to go play basketball today so got her work done quickly. One thing I am thankful for, she is not in such a hurry that she wants to go play before having Bible study. She wanted to have Bible study before she left. Today we talked about Christ’s appearance to His disciples, the Great Commission, and His ascension, and the promise of His return.
I printed another couple hundred pages this morning of lesson material and translation material. Last time, when the warning said that we could print nine more pages, I shook up the ink like Bro. Ogle said to do. Don’t know how many pages I printed last time, but it was more than nine. It looks like the laser jet is going to serve us well. Praise God for that.
At 9:00 we went to lotu.
After lotu, I punched holes in the papers I had printed. After Bible study with Serah, I worked on notes for youth leaders’ meeting on Sunday, and also future youth lessons. Made fish patties for lunch.
Wan, Gibson, Poqo, and Ari worked more on the house addition late morning and early afternoon, until the rains came.
After nap, I worked more on youth lessons and ladies’ meeting lessons. Then Daddy and I had snack, and went for a short walk. I took the camera to try to find a pig so I could take a picture. We didn’t see any people or any animals, except for Nuanda’s black dog, hunting for munas (a type of insect). We haven’t seen any pigs around since the night we had to wake up someone to help get the pig out of the yard. But then this evening, after supper, we heard little piggy sounds outside. There were the two little pigs, going around the fence, looking for a way in. Thankfully we had blocked up some holes this afternoon.
After our walk, Daddy and I worked on checking more of Mark. The Lord enabled us to complete through chapter 12 verse 12. Then I played the keyboard a little while, while Daddy shaved and washed up. After that, he played his songs on the keyboard, while I fixed supper. Then I played more keyboard and then washed up.
November 19.
.7” rain last night.
Studied more of III John together this morning before Daddy went to Bible school. Later in the morning, we went through I John and picked out all the verses that show how to recognize a believer, and especially one who is standing strong in the Lord.
Jokapet finished the last computer lesson today. Will start teaching her tomorrow how to do some other things, and let her start putting some of our stuff into files soon.
Serah was busier today than she has been. We didn’t have time for Bible study, but I need to decide what to start teaching her next. We finished the Firm Foundation lessons. Probably will start going through Acts with her.
The four men did more work on the foundation for the house addition today.
Daddy and I checked through Mark 12:31 this afternoon. Then I made peanut butter cookies, granola, and supper.
