May 25. Not much sun today. Some rain this afternoon and evening. Daddy was still not able to get to town. Jason at MAF said they MAY be able to get him Friday. SIL said they do not have any flights to Goroka this week. They came in today with a school charter, but the school people don’t let them take other passengers on their charter. So we just leave it in the Lord’s hands, believing that it is not His timing for Daddy to go to town.
SIL had a hard time landing today because of the winds. He was landing with a head wind, but it suddenly changed to a tail wind, causing the plane to bounce and slide off to the side. He couldn’t get back into the middle because the ground was too soft on the side so he didn’t make it all the way to the top. They had to unload the plane where he stopped, and then he was able to get the rest of the way up the airstrip. Then when he was taking off, a strong wind pushed his tail over, but he was able to straighten up okay.
Sunny was not in school this morning. She had been having a bad toothache, and Thania said her jaw was swollen. But Sunny was here to help this evening. She said she was feeling some better. Several of the students had taken home their math books, however, so they could only glue pasteovers in half the books. Graham corrected the science tests while Sunny started the gluing, and then Graham helped Sunny. Then they did dishes and had their computer lesson.
This evening, I made some bread for Daddy because his bread is all gone. The yeast must be too old, however, because the bread didn’t rise. Also printed out music lessons and a copy of the next Bible lesson so I can proofread it in my spare time.
“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.” John 16:7
