February 8. The Lord gave us a little sunshine this morning and a little blue sky this afternoon, but mostly clouds, and this evening rain.
After breakfast and quiet time this morning, I got Reading Workbook grades marked and recorded, the students’ new Bible lessons put into their folders, and several e-mails written.
Matthew preached this morning on Galatians 4:21 through the end of the chapter and did a great job comparing allegorical Mt. Sinai and Jerusalem, the slave woman and the free woman. Two ladies joined the church this morning - Obet’s wife and Taqita’s mother.
In the afternoon, David preached and Obet translated. Obet did a good job translating.
This afternoon, there was a tokples verse to put on the chalkboard for the students to check over tomorrow and also some math practice for them to do at the beginning of math class. Then I got soul-winning lesson 41 set up in the students’ file. This evening, I worked on lesson 42, the last lesson, and completed that, except for the conclusion. I am very thankful to have those done. Now I will have to concentrate on the Bible school lessons, school Bible lessons, ladies’ lessons.
And now it’s time to get ready to go to bed.
“21In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. 22All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him. 23And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see: 24For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.” Luke 10:21-24
February 9. Sunny and Graham just left after working and having their computer lesson. There wasn’t much work for them this evening so they had their lesson earlier than usual. Graham is doing really well, and Sunny is improving.
Skies were clear when the night began, but by morning, the clouds and fog were hanging around again. Has been cool and cloudy all day with just some drizzles of rain.
Dallas made a new gate for the north side of the fence this afternoon. The wood on the old gate was rotting, and the gate was falling apart.
My computer time today has been spent working on changes in the math lessons for the current unit. The unit is mostly on measures, and it uses American measures so everything has to be changed to metric. That’s a big job.
“39And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word…. 42But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:39,42
