October 23. The Lord gave us a lovely sunny morning, and the rains started this afternoon. It is raining now - 6:45 p.m. Phinehas is here practicing keyboard. Amos has already arrived for Bible school.
Woke up a little before 6:00 this morning. Had leftover pancakes for my breakfast. After quiet time, until time for lotu to start, I started sewing the seat cover on the king’s throne. Amos continued teaching from Acts chapter 2, Peter’s message to the Jews at Jerusalem. He talked mainly about David’s prophecy of Christ’s death and resurrection.
In phonics class today, the students had to write a story about a time when they were afraid. I told them a little story first about how I was afraid of the dark when I was a little girl. Then they each wrote their own story. It was their first time to write a story, and they did pretty well, considering that we have not studied a lot of grammar yet and English is their third language.
They had their first exam in English today - on nouns and verbs, and most of them did well. Friday they will have another one.
This afternoon, by the time I finished grading, recording grades, and getting things ready for school tomorrow, it was time to make my biscuits for supper.
A good number of people cut grass on the airstrip today, mostly from Ahnyauntapeq. There is about half the airstrip left to be cut.
