December 23. 44th anniversary. Thank you Lord for your goodness, mercy, love, grace, and longsuffering through these 44 years.
It rained and rained and rained and rained all night long and was still raining when we got up this morning. I wondered if people would be able to go get bamboo because I thought the ground would be too slippery. But they went close by today to get bamboo that Eric was giving. They started arriving with the bamboo mid-afternoon. They must have been doing assembly line type work - some carrying it to one location and others picking it up and carrying it here. They even got another wall made after they got here, got a window cut out on the west side, covered that side with coffee plastic, and put the second layer of wall on it before they all went home. It was already starting to get dark. Somebody brought them food shortly after they got here, so they did get to eat.
Tonight we do not have the generator on so, instead of working on computer the first part of the evening, I worked on lesson plans. Finished plans for the first week of phonics and for oral English and started on math plans. Then I had a bath and got a snack. It is now going on 9:00.
This morning the girls were busy with dishes, folding clothes, and sweeping. I practiced keyboard, marked places for screws and nails for the last shelf frame for the bookcase, wrote a couple e-mails. Daddy drilled the holes for the screws and I helped him put the shelf frame together.
This afternoon, I cut up a nice big popo and a pineapple that someone had brought today. Got the first week’s math lessons fixed up in the computer. I had scanned them last night out of a teacher’s book, but needed to set them up and cover the answers for the students’ copies.
When I finished that, I made some coconut cookies for Daddy and me. Then we had supper.
“9For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness….” Colossians 1:9-11
