July 18. Today was quite different from yesterday. No rain, but overcast and very cool all day so it was another day to keep the wood stove going. Otherwise pretty much a routine day.
Daddy finished up the teaching on church ministries in the meeting this morning. We were able to start school a bit earlier and finish earlier than usual so that was nice. That way I was able to get all the papers graded before dinner.
A plane came in this afternoon to take out a snake bite victim from Meqauna. Since it was a haus sik charter, Janeth filled up the rest of the plane with David’s coffee to help him out.
Kelly called Janeth and said they just started counting votes for this area today. They had to take care of pay for the polling team before they would let them count votes.
Daddy had Bible school this evening.
“7If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 9Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? 10For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.” Hebrews 12:7-10
July 19. It was quite cold when we went to bed last night, and was down to 52º this morning, even though it was overcast. Daddy kept the wood stove going all morning; and even with that, I could feel the chill and dampness in the schoolroom.
The SDA plane made about a dozen coffee shuttles to Aiyura today. A coffee company had given Nuanda money to buy coffee.
It was a blessing to see the sunshine when we got up from nap; and I was able to get out a few minutes and burn the trash. Then the wind started blowing in my ears so I came inside.
“11Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. 12Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; 13And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.” Hebrews 12:11-13
