In previous posts I have mentioned that God has led Dad and Mom to begin the work of planting a new church in the village of Owena. The church has chosen the name Glory Independent Baptist Church. There is still much opposition to this work, but there have been some blessings. Some of the men in the church have chosen to stand for what is right in spite of being threatened and facing potential persecution. Also, God encouraged Dad and Mom with a special blessing.
The following is taken from a monthly update that Dad and Mom send out to some supporters.

“1Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.” (II Corinthians 4:1,2)
Praise God for His mercy to keep us from fainting as we seek to fulfill the ministry He has given us. The members of Glory Independent Baptist Church have been making some good decisions as they work together to determine how the church should operate and be true to God’s Word. It is a blessing to see unity among the members. Please keep on praying for wisdom and good judgment in overseeing the organization of GIBC, and pray that God will raise up just, godly men to fill places of leadership.
Another blessing regarding the church is to hear the feedback from the community. People are already talking about the difference in the lives of the members of GIBC. We are thankful that the church members are maintaining a godly testimony, and it is our prayer that the church will remain pure and be a lighthouse in the community and in the regions beyond. We ask you to pray that God will continue to be glorified in the lives of these men and women who represent GIBC and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The people have begun to see the importance of working harder to get our new house done. Many people have started helping, but there is still a lot to do. Some of the church people have even given us a portion of their coffee crop as an offering to help with some of our building needs. That was a special, unexpected blessing. This is indeed a great step forward for these people, and a sacrifice on their part. Please pray that God will pour out His blessing on these people in such a way that they will know He is blessing them for giving.
Thank you for praying for Pita. He came once again earlier this month to have us pray for his youngest son who was very sick. He said he has not forgotten our kindness and the things we shared with him about his spiritual needs. However, he is not in fellowship with any church as yet, or with the Lord, as far as we know. So please continue to pray for him.
Thank you once again for the special part you play through prayer in helping God’s Word to be given to the Owena people
