April 12.  The Lord gave us a nice morning, and it got very warm by noon, especially in the meeting room with all that extra body heat.  This afternoon turned cooler and mostly overcast.  No rain, however, for the past couple days.

This morning, after breakfast and quiet time, I started working on a power point presentation for the school students with pictures from last year up until now.

Matthew preached this morning on the first couple verses of Ephesians after giving an introduction to the book.  This afternoon, David did the preaching and did a good job.

This afternoon, after the meeting, I spent some time on the ladies’ meeting lessons that I hope to start teaching shortly after soul-winning class is done.  Tonight should be the last night for soul-winning class.  Now we’d like to see more of the people going out and using what they’ve learned to bring others to Christ.  We are thankful for those who are sharing the word with others – David, Matthew, Amos, Mike, Dallas, Erick, Apekio, and maybe others that we don’t know of.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”  John 5:24

April 11.  When we went to bed last night, the sky was clear and starry.  The air was quite chilly.  When we woke up this morning, the sky was covered with clouds, and the fog was coming up out of the valley.  It stayed somewhat cool and cloudy most of the day with some periods of sunshine.

We were up early (about 5:30) to start laundry.  Somehow we finished the laundry early enough so that I had time to hang the clothes out before lotu.  Had breakfast and read Bible while the clothes were washing.

Mike spoke in the meeting this morning on God’s manifestation of love in Romans 5:6-8.  There were a good number here for the meeting.

Afterward, I got right to work at the computer.  Wanted to be sure to get all the updates ready to go out so Daddy can send them when he gets to town.  I was thankful to have gotten them all finished this morning.  Oops!  I discovered that I forgot two, but got those done this evening.  There is quite a stack of mail waiting to go out when Daddy gets to town.  We still aren’t getting much of a signal here.  Barely enough to send or receive a phone call - sometimes.

Also worked on and finished up another Bible school lesson today.

For lunch I fixed up the uxai that we had.  Mixed it with onions and seaweed.  Also made mashed potatoes.  Don’t know how long it’s been since we’ve had mashed potatoes.  Probably a couple years or so.  We usually don’t have enough potatoes.  Made some creamed tuna to go on top.

“50Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way….  53So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.”  John 4:50,53

April 8.  Up around 6:00 this morning - lotu day.  There were only five or six people here when lotu started, and we wondered if anyone else would be coming.  But gradually people drifted in, and there was a pretty good number.  Amos finished Acts chapter 15 this morning, verses 36-41, emphasizing the importance of giving a person time to prove himself again before taking him back into the ministry, if he has previously turned back and left God’s work.  Also emphasizing the importance of making reconciliation if there has been contention between two parties within the church.

Esau was here with the challenge math paper he had taken home last night.  I reprinted cm4 for him to do again to give him more practice with his fractions.  He did much better on it this time.  Is still mixed up about what mixed numbers are.

This morning I cleaned some more e-mails out of the inbox and tried to send the e-mails that I had written the past couple days, but we cannot get/keep a connection for sending.  So they may not get sent until Daddy goes to town.

Other jobs I did today:  prepared a new computer lesson for Graham and Sunny for next week; made the corrections for the I Thessalonians through Philemon booklet so I can print out a copy for Matthew; started making lesson plans for school for next week; made a chart of suffix rules for use in the schoolroom; made copies of the English words for “There Were Twelve Disciples” to print out for the students; fixed pumpkin and rice for dinner; folded yesterday’s laundry; got things ready for starting a fire in the morning.

We started out for a walk around 10:30 this morning, but water was running along the trail so it was too muddy/slippery for me to walk on.  I turned back, and Daddy went on by himself.  I didn’t even realize it had rained during the night.  Daddy said he had heard rain, but he thought it only rained a little bit.  But the ground was quite wet, and there was even still water running down the ditches that late in the morning.

George was here all day chopping firewood.

Yesterday, Daddy called MAF, and they told him they could get him first thing Monday morning.  Today MAF called back and said they can’t get him Monday, but could get him Tuesday.  However, he has a doctor appointment early Tuesday morning so a flight on Tuesday wouldn’t get him there on time.  So they said they can get him Saturday. That means he’ll be gone on the weekend again.  Boo hoo!

We are still not getting proper phone service and have not been able to send/receive any e-mails.

“Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.”  John 4:34

April 9.  Thursday.  I have to remind myself what day is what this week.  Since there is no school, more days seem like Saturday.

When we went to bed last night, it was raining pretty hard.  Don’t know what time it stopped, but when we woke up this morning, the moon and stars could be seen in the clear sky.  It wasn’t long, however, before the fog came up and spread across the tops of the mountains, later becoming clouds which hid the sunshine.  It must not have rained as hard last night as it did the night before, however, because the ground wasn’t as wet, and there was no water on the trail to the airstrip so I did get to go out for a walk today.  There were periods of sunshine and bits of blue sky that showed through the clouds now and then throughout the day.

While I was fixing our hot rice cereal for breakfast, Daddy tried again to send e-mails, but we can’t get a connection.  He tried around noon too, but still nothing.  We’re thankful that he has been able to get enough connection to get in touch with MAF and CRMF.  Then MAF called back and had changed their mind again, saying Holgar can come get Daddy in the air van on Monday afternoon.

Today, I put together the phonics posters I had printed last night, and highlighted some of the important words in the rules.  Put the posters up in the schoolroom.  Got an e-mail written and got rid of some old e-mails from the inbox.  Scanned some math pages and finished up the math review lesson for the first day of school.  Finished lesson plans for week one of school.

Before supper, I gathered up all the trash to be burned; then swept and mopped the office and kitchen floors.  After that, I was really worn out.  Daddy dried the floors for me.  That’s even harder on my back than the sweeping and mopping.  I am happy to have that job done, but next time hopefully Graham and Sunny will be here to do it.

“35Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.  36And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.  37And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.  38I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.”  John 4:35-38

April 10.  It has been cool and cloudy again today, but there has been no rain since the night before last.

Worked today on a Bible school lesson outline, a Bible test to cover the next section in our lessons, a music lesson, journal notes and e-mail for C&C, adding some things to the math review lesson for Monday.  In the middle of the morning, we went for a little walk over to the airstrip.  It was good to get out.  We were both feeling sleepy in the house.  This afternoon, I also washed the schoolroom windows and wiped the dirt off some of the meeting room windows so they will be ready to clean, tried to scrub the tape off the pulpit, made an orange cake for supper with custard sauce to go on top of it, looked over the tax forms so Daddy can take them and mail them off to Christy when he goes to town.

Daddy did a little packing so he can be ready in case MAF calls in the morning and says, “Can you be ready to go in a half hour?”

“39And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did….  41And many more believed because of his own word; 42And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.”  John 4:39,41,42

Why There Was No Water

April 6.  Many thoughts kept me awake for a while during the night last night, but I was thankful that my back didn’t hurt so much so my body could rest.  When we got up this morning, there was lots of clear sky, and we saw the moon getting ready to set in the west.  It wasn’t long though before the skies were mostly cloudy, and they day stayed cool.  The sun peeked through every now and then, and the rains came this afternoon.  It was refreshing to get out for a little walk later in the morning while the weather was somewhat pleasant, and the rains hadn’t come yet.

After breakfast and quiet time this morning, I wrote a couple e-mails.  Afterwards I made corrections in the new Bible school lesson Daddy had proofread, and then set up the students’ copy.  Just as we were about to go out the back door for our walk, there was a knock on the front door.  Neomi was here with some eggs.  She said somebody had stolen and killed the mother hen.  While she was still here, there was another knock on the door.  It was Tomas.  He had a root system about six feet long or longer in his hand.  He had just removed it from one of the pipes between Yerox and the health centre.  People at Wanyapeq haven’t had water for about a week, and they keep blaming us or Tomas for taking all the water.  Daddy suggested that they have someone check the pipes.  Tomas wasn’t here all last week, and just came back on Saturday.  He had gone to Kainantu to spend some time with Philemon who had a week’s holiday from school.  So today Tomas started checking all the pipe joints between Yerox and the health center, and that is what he found.  Wish I had thought to take a picture of it.  Apparently when dirt gets into the pipes, it sometimes carries with it seeds from trees.  The trees can’t grow in the pipes, but long root systems grow.  He said that wasn’t the first one he pulled out of a pipe, but it was the longest.

While he was in town, Tomas had bought a controller for his big battery to install and keep the solar panel from over-charging his battery.  He had Daddy look at that while he was here and explain to him how it worked.  After Tomas and Neomi had both left, we finally went for our walk.  When we got back, it was already after 11:00.  I was quite tired, however, so went and had my nap.  Slept for about an hour and started making tortillas for my lunch after I got up.  After I had a couple of them cooked, I mixed up some tuna and mayo, and we sat down to eat.  The rest of the tortillas got cooked during and after lunch.

While Daddy took his nap, I read snatches of the book Iranian Christian.  Shortly before he got up, I turned on the computer and started working on the lessons on “Knowing the Will of God.”  I made a new file in the school folder with the notes from Bible school, but started setting it up a little differently and adding questions.  This will be used with my school students after we finish the lessons on a Biblical marriage.

After doing a section in those lessons and taking a stretch, I did some work on the ladies’ lessons that I hope to start teaching some time soon.  In between all that, I washed a pumpkin which Daddy cut up, and then I peeled it and cut it up smaller to be cooked for supper.  I also got a pie crust made which I later filled with onions, tomatoes, and beaten eggs for our meal this evening.  The pumpkin tasted good, and we enjoyed that pie topped with spaghetti sauce.  Right after supper, I got the kitchen cleaned up and did the dishes.

“13Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”  John 4:13,14

April 7.  Slept in a bit later this morning.  There was some fog when I got up, but some blue sky too.  The moon was clearly visible in the western sky.  More fog was coming up out of the valley, and soon the blue sky was covered.  Would the blue sky be back again after the fog was gone?  Yes.  Praise the Lord for a sunny morning for hanging out clothes.

We didn’t have to hurry to get clothes washed by a certain time since there is no school.  So I ate breakfast and had quiet time first.  Then I sorted the laundry, and Daddy started the generator.  While clothes were washing, I started writing an e-mail.  Didn’t get much of it done, since I had to keep getting up to tend to the clothes in the machine.

It was refreshing to get out in the sunshine and hang the clothes.  After hanging clothes, I finished the e-mail I was writing, and then started writing the March progress report.  Finished before dinner, I think.

After lunch, we went out and brought in the clothes before having our nap.  This afternoon I wrote a couple more e-mails and cleaned our bedroom.

We started making the shopping list after supper, but Esau came and wanted help with his math so I spent some time with him on that before Bible school.  After Bible school started, I got the new lesson printed out (had forgotten to do that yesterday), collated, and punched.  Daddy was finishing up the last lesson so there was enough time to get this one ready.

“23But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.  24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”  John 4:23,24

An Opportunity to Pray About

April 4.  It has been another hot, sweaty day.  It is raining hard this evening, however, and cooling down quickly.  We could see the dark clouds forming in the northeast, and we usually get a good soaker from that direction.

I got up earlier than I had planned this morning because I was getting uncomfortable in bed, and also because my mind was a bit troubled so I needed to spend time with the Lord.  Consequently, I was tired after breakfast, and took a little nap early in the morning.

Matthew taught lotu this morning, continuing on the topic of Knowing the Will of God, teaching from Proverbs 3:5,6.  In prayer time, Dallas shared an opportunity he had yesterday evening with three young men who live near him - Paul, Jordan, and somebody else.  Pol (Paul) had asked Dallas to come see him, but didn’t tell him why.  Dallas didn’t have time to go until after Bible school last night; and when he got to Paul’s house, the other two were with him.  They just made small talk for a while, and then Dallas asked them why they wanted him to come.  They said they were troubled about some things and realized they have a big need in their lives.  They see that our pastor and church is good, and they wanted Dallas to teach them.  Dallas hadn’t gone prepared, but he did have his Bible with him and read a verse to them and also prayed for them.  We hope that he will go back and perhaps teach them the chronological lessons he is getting in Bible school.

After my nap, I got the rest of the students’ workbooks put away in the school cupboards and finished some of the cleaning up that didn’t get done yesterday.  When Daddy turned the generator on, I worked for a while on the next outline for Bible school.  At 10:00, we called Christy and Connie.  Praise the Lord, we were able to get through.  However, there was a lot of interference coming through, and we could not hear.  Daddy hung up and tried again, but the same interference was still there.  So we waited about a half hour and then tried again.  Much better!  We enjoyed a good little chat with them.

Praise the Lord for Phinehas and some of the other young men working on the water pipes today and getting the water working again.  We are thankful that we kept getting a little bit of water here in the house, but there was no water anywhere else for several days.

After that, we went for a walk.  It was good to get out even though the air was quite stuffy.  The little breeze was welcome.

Worked some more on the Bible school outline after we came back.  Then warmed up the greens and fish patties for dinner.

Was thankful for a good nap, after which I washed my hair.  Planned to clean the bathroom too, but the heat took away my strength.  So I just worked on the Bible school lesson outline until supper time and got that finished.  Then I cut up a cucumber and a couple little tomatoes to go on our egg salad sandwiches for supper.  By the time we finished eating supper, the air had cooled off enough for me to clean the bathroom.  Then I practiced keyboard until just a little while ago.

“22And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven: 23And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart….”  I Kings 8:22,23

End of School Term and Snake Bite!

April 2.  The last day of classes for this term.  Tomorrow the students will come a little later.  We’ll practice music first as they will be singing a couple specials for our song time on Sunday afternoon.  Then we’ll have our end-of-term fun day.  They will have a week holiday before school starts again.

After everyone said their memory verses, we practiced music this morning in Bible class.  Didn’t want to start a new section in the lesson until after the holiday.  In phonics class, they finished up the lesson in their reading workbook.  In math class, they finished up a lesson, did a drill, and also did a challenge worksheet.  Some of them took the worksheet home to finish.  In their last class, they finished the lesson they had started Monday in science.

This afternoon, I finished filling in the report cards, found envelopes for them, trimmed up the cards to fit in the envelopes, and have them all ready to give out tomorrow.  I also finished grading the challenge math papers that were done.

After supper, I started making sure things are ready for fun day until it got too dark.  Now the lights are on so I’ll have to finish getting this ready.  Sunny and Graham are here to finish checking today’s lessons, do the dishes, and have their computer lesson.

Early this morning, Obet’s young son (about 13 years old) was bitten by a snake.  They carried him over here from Marivo.  He was out in the bush cutting down a tree to bring to school when the snake bit him.  Later in the morning, the plane arrived to take him to the hospital.  We hope that he will be okay.  He was not doing too well when they left here.  Ham accompanied him to the hospital.

Holgar (the pilot) told Daddy that Owena is the only place in the Highlands where they have emergency flights for snake bite victims.  I that that was quite strange, unless people in the other areas just don’t bother because they figure people are just going to die anyway.

“30He must increase, but I must decrease.  31He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.”  John 3:30,31

April 3.  It has been quite a day - not just busy, but hot.  My, am I tired!  The day started around 5:45.  Since the students wouldn’t be coming until 8:30 this morning, we decided to go ahead and do laundry today.  Then we won’t have to get up so early tomorrow morning.  Only did two loads of wash today since there will be extra time next week to wash an extra day.  Had breakfast and read Bible while clothes were washing.  Prayed while I was hanging out clothes, and walked and prayed some more after I came inside.

Got everything out for our fun day.  Practiced keyboard until the kids came.  Our first half hour was spent practicing the two songs they’ll be singing on Sunday afternoon.  Then we started the games.  Bethuel won the surprise ball by guessing the number closest to what I had chosen.  All the games were team games except for stacking the rings on the pole and putting the shapes into the snail.  Team members were rotated after each game.  After games there was lunch - rice and fish, peanuts, Rokroks (a type of cookie), and juice drink.  (Daddy and I had egg salad sandwiches.)  After all the cleanup was done, the students received their report cards and prizes, and then we all went out back and took some pictures.

Daddy had gone out and brought the clothes in while I was giving out report cards.

Before the students left, three of the boys helped Daddy empty the rest of the fuel out of the bottom of the diesel drum.

I was grateful for nap time although it was hard to rest because it was so hot and my back was hurting.

After nap, I was busy in the kitchen until after supper - rinsing and stacking all the dishes from the party; putting away other things from the party (all the game stuff is still not put away); sorting, washing, and cutting up greens and onion to cook for supper; making fish patties for supper.

After supper, I marked and recorded grades from the lessons that Sunny and Graham checked last night.  Now I need to wash dishes, but I doubt very much that I will wash all the dishes this evening.  There is quite a stack of them.

Daddy somehow managed to get a call through to Digicel today to let them know about our phone service problems.  They said they had not received any other complaints, but would check things out.  This afternoon, Daddy was able to send an e-mail out and get a couple in, and we were getting more bars on our phones so hopefully tomorrow we’ll be able to get a call through to Christy and Connie.

Daddy is busy teaching Bible school, and it is raining now.

Praise the Lord for news today that Obet’s son is recovering from the snake bite.  How thankful we are for God’s mercy upon Obet and his family.

“ He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”  John 3:36

Sick Days

March 30.  It started raining in the middle of the evening last night and rained and rained and rained.  Don’t know what time it stopped, but it was still raining hard at 1:00 a.m. when I got up.  After that, I didn’t wake up until 5:30.  The water was really muddy.

A wee bit of sunshine today, but mostly cloudy and damp.  Rain came before the students finished school today.  It has been raining off and on most of the afternoon.

Daddy hasn’t felt good today.  Has been dizzy, and this evening he started feeling sick to his stomach.  After he took some activated charcoal, though, he was able to eat supper.

I woke up from nap today with an earache and sore throat and then started sneezing and coughing - the beginning of a cold.  So neither one of us were feeling well this afternoon.  Daddy is lying down resting this evening.  Sunny and Graham are here working and will have their computer lesson, and Phinehas is studying.

There wasn’t much grading to do today, but there was quite a bit to write on the chalkboard for tomorrow.  Have also been working on averaging up grades so I can have their report cards ready by Friday.

“The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.”  2 Samuel 22:47

March 31.  Before I went to bed last night, I figured I was coming down with strep throat again so started on amoxicillin right away.  The night was long, and I did not sleep comfortably.  By the time I went to bed, I was too congested to sleep.  Finally got up and got extra pillows and allergy med.  Slept for a few hours, but then woke up with my throat really, really sore.  It had been long enough to take another dose of amoxicillin.  Also took some white willow.  I figured I wouldn’t be getting up this morning to teach school.  Don’t know what time I finally got up.  I was feeling the need for something to eat.  Had breakfast and quiet time and then dozed in the recliner for quite a while.

Most of my waking hours today were spent averaging grades for the report cards.  Am thankful to have all that done.  Just need to fill in the report cards now.  I also made soup for lunch.  Soup sounded like a good thing for a sick person.  Daddy is still not feeling quite himself either.  He is going to try to teach Bible school this evening, however.

The church people spent yesterday and today cutting the grass on the airstrip.  The Lord gave us a lovely, warm, clear blue sky day today.  It got quite warm in the house by noon because there was no wind.  I was happy to get out for a few minutes in the sunshine.  Didn’t sleep very long at nap time because I was too hot, but dozed a while in the recliner after supper.  Then I had my bath while the evening was still warm.

“When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.”  John 2:22

April 1.  Went to bed early last night and rested a bit better than the night before.  I also slept for a while in the recliner after breakfast so I wouldn’t be too tired for school.  Even then, the morning was tiring for me.  I thank the Lord for His strength to help me through the morning.  Enjoyed a longer, restful nap this afternoon, and have felt much better this afternoon.

The Lord gave us another very warm, sunny day.  Pretty blue sky this morning, but clouds were back again this afternoon.  It is still quite warm this evening.

Amos preached on Acts 15:22-32 this morning, telling about the letter written from the church in Jerusalem to the churches in Antioch and other areas.

This afternoon, after grading a few lessons and writing some lessons on the chalkboard for tomorrow, I turned to the kitchen where I made popo crisp for supper and peanut butter cookies for Daddy.  I saved a little bit of the cookie dough and added cocoa to it to make cookies for myself.

Thania spent over three hours today doing the rest of the grading for me.  I was very grateful for her help.

After supper, I started marking grades on the lessons and then recording them.  John and Margaret were here this evening for about an hour, and we enjoyed the time to just get acquainted with them a bit.  We also gave them each an English Bible from the ones that a fellow worker on another field and their church had sent.  Our prayer is for John and Margaret to be saved.

Amos was here teaching youth meeting.  After John and Margaret left, I got a snack and did the dishes.  Now I’m tired so needed to sit down and relax for a while.  Then I will heat bath water and take a bath.

“14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.  16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”  John 3:14-18

March 29.  Slept in a little later this morning, but only a few minutes after 6:00.  Then I got up and made breakfast.  Had quiet time and did some exercises.  Marked and recorded grades from the schoolwork that Sunny and Graham corrected last night.  Got the three students’ math lessons ready to put into their ring binders.  Worked on the Bible school lesson outline.

There was a good number here for lotu this morning - quite a few visitors.  We were happy to see Mak and Francis here.  The church prays for them, and we pray for them in school as well.  I believe the church’s Saturday evening meetings in homes are going to pay off in bringing more people to hear the Word who are hesitant to come here on Sundays.  Matthew said there was a large group who came to the house meeting in Marivo last night.

This morning, Matthew preached on Galatians 6:7-10, Sowing and Reaping.  It was a good message.  The Gospel was included, and he gave an invitation, but no response.  But the seed is sown, and there will be a time for reaping.

The second meeting was a business meeting.  Before the meeting was over, the rain started pouring down, and there was thunder and lightning.  So that closed the meeting for today.  People hung around quite a while though until the rain slowed down.  It is raining hard again this evening.  This is the first hard rain we have had in some time, and we are thankful for a good rain.

There has been a lot of cool, damp, cloudy weather in Owena but not much rain.  They have been thankful for more sunshine and for the rain.

Sera Obet brought us some nice tomatoes this morning.  I was very grateful for that blessing.

This afternoon, I got an e-mail written to C&C, added this past week’s journal notes, and then Daddy sent it off to them.  Then I finished up the Bible school lesson outline I’d been working on.  Just need to add a few questions at the end for their homework.

This evening, Phinehas was here studying for a couple hours.  He just borrowed an umbrella so he could go home.  I did some grade averaging as I need to get the report cards ready for Friday.  Took a bath.  Then read Connie’s e-mail that came in this afternoon.

Daddy wasn’t feeling well today so did not have soul-winning class this evening.  He wonders if he has bronchitis.

“36Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.  37Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.”  2 Samuel 22:36,37
