September 2. I was thankful to get a fair amount of sleep last night. I did have to get up in the middle of the night for more aspirin. Today I felt like I must have some kind of flu - chills until mid-afternoon. The whole body has been hurting, and I have been moving in slow motion. And the weather didn’t warm up much or get very sunny until later in the afternoon.
After breakfast, I put eggs on to boil for egg salad sandwiches at noon. Only a couple eggs left. Some of the people said the hens aren’t laying right now.
I was thankful for the Lord’s help through school. It seemed like a long morning. I did take quite a long nap this afternoon. As long as I stayed under the cover, I felt nice and warm, but as soon as I put my arms out, I felt chilled again.
It was 3:00 when I got up. Had a little fruit snack and then finished grading today’s papers and recording grades. While doing that, I got warmed up nicely under the skylight in the office.
After that, I had to make granola. Then washed and cut up the rest of the carrots (did not peel them - had saved out the best ones last time so I wouldn’t have to spend a lot of time peeling). Then started making spaghetti.
I cleaned up the kitchen and started the dishes, and then Daddy kindly finished up the dishes for me. While he was doing dishes, I practiced keyboard a while. Then had my soda drink and a nice bath. Got some things written on the chalkboard for tomorrow and got a snack. Did a little bit of printing and photocopying. Now it is 8:45 already. I was hoping to get an e-mail off to the girls this evening, but don’t know if I will get to it or not.
“25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, 26But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: 27To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.” Romans 16:25-27
September 3. The evening is drawing to a close. It has been a different sort of day. The Lord did give us a good amount of sunshine although the air never got too warm.
Found out yesterday that a group of people were planning to take coffee to Okapa today. So after the students came to school this morning, I asked them if they didn’t need to go and sell coffee too to help with their youth camp expenses. They said they were thinking about going Thursday after school, but it really would be better for them to go with a big group. So I gave them a couple days off to go out with their coffee, and told them we can just move the end of the term ahead, depending on how much time they need to take off for going to youth camp and getting ready.
After they left, I got an e-mail written to Christy and Connie and sent journal notes. Then Daddy and I went for a walk in the nice sunshine. We would have walked a bit more, but the wind started blowing, and I didn’t want to have more trouble with my ears and throat. I was thankful to be feeling much better today than yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised that I had enough strength to walk to the top of the airstrip and back.
After we got back, I finished getting our new prayer card made up and sent that off to Christy and Connie. Then it was time for dinner, and then nap.
Most of the afternoon was spent working on pictures for missions conference display. Then I made lemon coconut bars for Daddy and ginger cookies for myself before fixing supper. There were quite a few dishes this evening so didn’t get to the computer until a little after 6:30. Finished up the conference pictures and got them put into e-mails to send to Christy and Connie. While they were sending, I had lots of time to do other things. It must have taken them about an hour to go out.
