December 2. It has been another very warm day, but it has been a good day. God is so good.
The day started with making pancakes for breakfast. I had barely started when there was a knock on the door. It was not yet 6:30. Who would be knocking this time of morning, and what could they want? It was Phinehas. He wanted to talk to Daddy and get saved. And so he did. Praise God! Now four of my school students are saved. The Lord had a good reason for allowing Phinehas to get sick so he would have to come back to Owena. Since he has been back, he has been hearing the Gospel over and over - in school, in church, and at home. Tomas has been faithful to share the gospel with his family. As far as we know, Phinehas is the first one of his children to get saved.
After Phinehas left, we had breakfast. I had quiet time too and did a little walking. Got the bed made. Got things together for the Lord’s supper today. Put rice on to cook for dinner, and put the other chicken breast in the pressure cooker to cook. Did some work on the translation of Revelation. Practiced the songs I would be singing for the special song time today.
Before the message this morning, Phinehas gave his salvation testimony. There was a good group out for the meeting. Daddy preached on I Corinthians 3:16-23. While I was fixing our dinner, Maura and Sunny came in to get the bread and grape juice ready for the Lord’s supper.
David was in charge of the second meeting today, and Amos translated for him. Matthew and Tomas gave out the elements. After the Lord’s supper, there were several groups who sang specials, and Amos gave a testimony of how he used to be like Nicodemus and other Pharisees. He was a church leader (deacon), was faithful to always go to lotu, pray, give his tithe, etc. But it was all in vain because he was not saved. It was a good testimony.
It was 3:30 before the second meeting was over. The young people wanted us to give them the volley ball that we had bought for them in town, but nobody had any money to pay for it. Pay had to come first, however. They all went outside and discussed it, and Amos said he would pay for the volleyball if the young people would pick his coffee. That sounded like a good deal to them. So they got their volleyball and then went to work cleaning off a spot to set up the net. Around 5:00, they had their place ready for playing.
In the mean time, Daddy and I had just a short nap because there was a lot to do. I wanted to make sure I had everything together for starting school tomorrow. There were quite a few dishes tonight, and there was soul-winning class too so the evening has been busy as well. But I think everything is about ready.
“22And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 25And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.” Mark 11:22-26
