April 20. Went back to bed last night after my snack and “slept” the rest of the night. It was not a restful night since my face and head were hurting so much. Got up once in the middle of the night and had some white willow and clear lungs and something to eat. Then I got up when Daddy got up this morning, about 5:30. I had been in bed long enough. Had my lemon soda drink, quiet time, and then breakfast.
This morning in lotu Tomas led the songs, and they sang a couple extra songs before Mike got here to do the preaching. He talked about receiving rewards in heaven for the work we do here for the Lord. Sometimes we get some pay here, but we will get our full reward in heaven.
After lotu there was laundry to do, as usual. I was thankful for Daddy’s help. He did a big part of the work today. I did go out and help hang the clothes even though I was already tired, but it felt good to get out in the sunshine. The Lord gave us a lovely, sunny day, and all the clothes were able to dry out in the sunshine.
Phinehas and Wiru were here chopping firewood.
Lay down for a nap after we came inside from hanging clothes. Before lunch, I worked on lessons for school tomorrow. There isn’t much to prepare since we only have two days of school this week and the anniversary meetings start on Wednesday. Also practiced some short choruses that the keyboard students will be learning in the next couple weeks. Then we had our lunch, and I was ready already for my afternoon nap. Daddy went out and got the clothes in while I cleaned up the kitchen and got the trash ready to be burned later. Then I went ahead and lay down while he was still getting clothes.
After nap, I sat at the table, and Daddy brought me ingredients to make him oatmeal cookies. Got them all mixed up and on the trays, but it was too hot to start the oven so waited until the afternoon started to cool down a little. In the mean time, I got announcements made for the special meetings, ready to be printed out and put up on the community bulletin boards. Then I started baking the cookies, and got corn and uxai husked to cook for supper. Fixed spaghetti this evening as well.
I did up part of the dishes, and Daddy finished them for me. Then I finished up the Bible lesson I had been working on for school before having my evening soda drink and lying down for an evening nap.
Daddy got me up about 8:30, and we had our baths, and then I had a snack. Now it is 9:30 p.m. and just about bed time.
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” John 15:16
April 21. The Lord sent us rain during the night. Neither Daddy nor I slept well. Daddy rested in the recliner for a while until his eyes and nose stopped running, but he didn’t really get any sleep until some time after he went back to bed. I’m thankful that my cold is doing better, but other things were troubling me. Am finding that very acid foods are one cause of increased discomfort. Had spaghetti with tomato sauce yesterday. It tasted really good, but my body was not happy with it. Did not have the tomato sauce today.
On Friday evening, Daddy had already forewarned the men that they may have to preach today so Amos and Matyu were prepared. Neither of us went to lotu today. We were too wiped out so “slept” most of the time. We could hear the service from the bedroom.
They finished the first service a little before noon, and we had our dinner.
After nap this afternoon, I washed my hair. Got verses set up in the computer to print for the anniversary meetings starting this coming Wednesday.
The church decided this afternoon that they will not put notices up on the community bulletin boards. So instead of the announcement, I just got the theme verses set up to be printed out and put up on the meeting room bulletin board.
No soul-winning class this evening since Daddy isn’t feeling up to it. We have the generator running though so I could do some scanning and printing. Also needed to write some things on the chalkboard for class tomorrow and practice another song the students will be learning for the meetings. It is a short one so they shouldn’t have any problem with it. Daddy had Amos start the generator for him this evening.
“18If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. 20Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. 21But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.” John 15:18-21
