August 4. Heard rain about 4:00 this morning. It was cloudy most of the morning, and the Lord sent sunshine later in the morning. More rain came this afternoon, but we really haven’t had any hard rains yet.
For lotu, Mike started a few children’s songs; and when Amos came, he started the meeting with prayer and singing. Daddy finished I Corinthians 15 and covered the first four verses in chapter 16. While we were having our dinner, the youth practiced songs for the afternoon sing time. Then I practiced with the school choir just before the meeting started. Matthew led the singing this afternoon, and they sang a lot of songs before he turned it over to Mike to officiate the Lord’s supper. The sing time was after that. The school choir sang one song; then the youth choir sang two; and then the school choir sang their other song. By then it was almost 3:00, and I was very tired so went on to nap before the youth choir sang their other numbers.
I didn’t rest very well because I was already over-tired. When I got up, it took me a while to get oriented before I could accomplish anything. Finally I got things ready for school tomorrow. Then got supper on the table.
“24O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.” Romans 7:24,25
August 5. Was really tired last night and went to bed early. Was congested though, for some reason, and couldn’t breathe good so couldn’t sleep well. Got up and tried some cough syrup, but that didn’t help. Later in the night, I thought maybe it was an allergy so took some ALJ. That seemed to help, and I slept pretty well the rest of the night. When I got up this morning, however, I didn’t have any voice. I managed to get through teaching somehow, with a very low voice.
It was cloudy most of the morning and cool at noon. We were thankful for some sunshine this afternoon to help recharge the solar battery.
Esau wasn’t here today and wasn’t in church yesterday either. They have cut open his toe to help “get the frog’s eye out” (drain an abscess maybe?). He’s been having a bit of trouble getting around.
Had a good nap this afternoon, but am still tired this evening. It is time to take a break from some of the supplements, I think.
After nap, I had a soda drink. Then cut up half a small popo for our snack. Went outside for a little stretch. Finished grading papers. Recorded grades. Got things ready for school tomorrow. Sorted and washed greens that somebody brought today. Made fish patties for supper, which we had along with leftover veggies.
Before I did dishes, I washed out the pressure cooker, cut up the greens and some onion, and put them on to cook. Then I started dishes. There were lots of dishes this evening. When the greens were done cooking, I put the leftover fish patties in the pressure cooker too and brought everything up to pressure.
“1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:1-4
