I went down to the house as soon as we got here. It had rained the night before, and the airstrip was a bit slippery. I expected the trail to be quite slippery, too, but it wasn’t as bad as I expected so I was thankful for that. Got the house opened up and got out the BoyBoys so we’d be ready for people to bring in our cargo. I was thankful to see that no rain had come inside the house while we were gone.
When Daddy came down, all the cargo was already here, and I had started unpacking the fridge and freezer stuff. We spent most of the rest of the morning unpacking and putting things away. My legs were hurting quite a bit this morning so I had to keep sitting down. I didn’t have enough white willow with me in town so didn’t have one to take this morning. I forgot about it after we got here until time for nap. Then I remembered, that’s why my legs were hurting so much.
The men and young men were busy working on the church addition when we got here. They had all the foundation poles up, and by the end of the day had most of the floor poles laid across and nailed. Matthew and Eric did most of the work, and others helped them off and on.
This afternoon, I organized all the yarn and the baby things. Also answered the door a few times. Penina brought peanuts. Simaru brought cucumbers and onions. Erovi had brought a few cucumbers earlier. Maro’s mother came with greens and wanted yarn. She also wanted the rice that Daddy was supposed to buy for her, but he forgot all about buying it. We just gave her part of a bag of our own rice.
Made spaghetti for supper. Did dishes. Daddy finished up the dishes, and I did laundry. The machine is not working very well, especially the extractor. Some of the clothes were still pretty wet after extracting them.
Philemon was here visiting with Daddy for a while this evening, telling him a bit about school and also wanting to buy the old generator for his dad.
Got the shirts, dresses, and blouses hung up, and now it is time to relax.
“8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8,9
November 30. Last day of November. Only one month left in this year. Where has the year gone?
Up at 6:00 this morning. As soon as I was ready, Daddy took the clothes out for me, and I hung them up. Came in and had breakfast and read Bible. Then it was time for lotu. Tomas continued his message on John 16:33, today talking about being of good cheer. He made reference to Matthew 5:11,12 and also Luke 6:22,23 and concluded with Christ’s command for us to “leap for joy.”
After lotu, Daddy ran the generator for a while so I started an e-mail to Christy and Connie and put some photos into the Kodak file. Most of the rest of the day, I have been sorting through all the Sunday school materials in the foot locker. I want to get everything cleaned out of it so I can store all the extra school supplies in there. Just have a little bit left to do. Didn’t realize it was going to be such a big job.
Took a break later in the morning to prepare carrots and broccoli and get them on to cook for dinner. Then I warmed up part of the spaghetti that I had cooked yesterday. Right after dinner, we got the clothes in. There were a few drops falling out of the sky. After we got clothes hung up in the closet, we had our nap.
This afternoon, I did more sorting of the Sunday school material until almost supper time. Then I remembered that my bread was gone and I needed to make biscuits. Got that done, and we had our supper about 5:3o. Then I did dishes and cleaned the bathroom before getting back to sorting Sunday school stuff.
It rained a bit this afternoon, and turned quite cool and windy so Daddy started the fire early. Water is probably about ready for our baths whenever we are ready for our baths.
“17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19
