Hello, everyone! I'm sorry for the long time between updates. I have been experiencing some technical problems - problems with internet connection and also some computer issues. Here are some excerpts from Mom's journal notes, starting February 1! Thank you for praying!
February 1. There was some rain and cold winds during the first part of the night last night. It was quite chilly this morning, with some clouds and some blue sky. It was a nice enough day to hang out clothes and put the corn out to finish drying too. Before breakfast, I went out and hung the clothes. There was a cold breeze blowing so I came in and put an extra shirt on under my jacket.
Had time for breakfast and quiet time before lotu started. Tomas had charge this morning. He talked about the Lord’s return and man’s need to be ready because we do not know the day or the hour when he will come back. There were quite a few here, and there were lots of prayer requests. After lotu, Francis and Titus chopped firewood.
I got a couple e-mails written and was thankful they went out as there was over 4 MB of mail coming in. Only part of them came in.
Before lunch, I went out and brought in the fitted sheet and pillow cases that were on the line so I could get the bed made. Then I went out and got down the rest of the clothes.
Warmed up our dinner, ate, and went for nap. Afterward I finished up this week’s lesson plans and made sure things I need to print this evening were all ready to be printed. Also gathered up all the trash to be burned later. Then I started making coconut cookie bars for Daddy, took a break and got ingredients together for popo crisp so that would be ready for our supper. Finished the cookies and got them into the oven while supper was cooking.
After supper, I went out and burned the trash. Came back in and did dishes. Cut up Daddy’s cookie bars. Bottled the dried corn and put it away to be ground into flour later. Found a song to go with our new Bible verse this week and practiced singing it so I could get it right. Neomi came by for a few minutes.
We are thankful that the rest of the e-mails came in this evening. There was still over 3 MB, but praise the Lord, the reception did not go out the whole time so the rest of the e-mails all came in.
“13But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.” II Thessalonians 2:13-15
February 2. I felt like sleeping in this morning, but Daddy came and got me up a little after 6:00. Time to get up and get busy making pancakes.
After breakfast, quiet time, and walking time, I resized all the pictures from the special meetings and some from before and after. Last night I finally finished editing them. It took me about a week to get them all edited, but only about an hour to resize them all.
Matthew came last night with a schedule he and David had made up for meetings. They also are hoping to start Sunday school, youth meetings, and discipleship classes. They have all the meetings scheduled with time slots for each part of the program. So today they started according to the clock - 10:00 for the morning meeting, ending at 12:00; and 1:00 for the afternoon meeting, ending at 2:00. I hope they don’t get themselves in bondage to the clock. But then again, will their starting on time and following a schedule last? Time will tell. Many of the Marivo people were here for the meeting this morning.
Matthew preached on just one verse this morning - II Corinthians 7:2. He gave lots of cross references and examples for each part of the verses, showing how Paul’s life reflected the things that he spoke about there.
In the second meeting, David continued the chronological lessons, covering today God’s work on the second day of creation. He doesn’t get much time to preach in the second meeting, and then he needs a translator so that only gives him half as much time.
Daddy slept off and on during the day. He doesn’t seem to be coughing as much as he was; but now he has a bad boil on his nose from blowing his nose so much, and that makes him have a headache.
I had my nap after second lotu. Then I washed the chalkboard and got the classroom set up for tomorrow. Then I did some computer work until supper time. Got a new music lesson ready, but remembered we won’t be needing it until next week. But that’s okay. It’s done.
We had the rest of the popo crisp for supper.
“16Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.” II Thessalonians 2:16,17
