February 19. It is already 9:30. Daddy just turned off the generator. The Lord gave us a nice sunny day. It felt quite warm most of the day, but we did have some strong winds, and they were cold winds in the morning.
Had a little more time after breakfast this morning. Tried to walk a little and pray. It was slow walking, but I need to try anyway, and see if I can get some strength back in my legs. Then Daddy turned on the generator, and I worked on ministry updates until school time.
I was thankful to have time this afternoon, too, to work at computer after grading papers and getting things ready for school tomorrow. Needed to get some math papers made up for Sunny and for the other kids for school tomorrow so I could print them out this evening. Also needed to get more ministry updates ready to go.
For supper, I made a small pizza so I could use up the little bit of leftover spaghetti and the leftover sauce. It tasted good and was a nice change from sandwiches. Dishes didn’t take too long so got back to the computer as soon as I could. Had several interruptions at the door, but was thankful to have gotten the school papers printed out and the ministry updates sent out.
We were excited to receive an e-mail from a friend saying that the Lord has provided for him to be able to come and speak at the 2014 New Year meetings.
Then there was choir - scheduled for 7:00, but people came late as usual. It was 7:30 when we started with maybe a dozen people. By the time we finished, there was a pretty good group there. We practiced most of the time on “Sitting At the Feet of Jesus.” It would be nice if I could teach Maura music. She seems to have a good ear and catches on the best.
We only spent about 15 or 20 minutes on “Tell Me of Jesus.” It was after 8:30 then, and I needed a bath. Had a little snack while bath water was heating.
“38What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house: 39Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;) 40That they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.” I Kings 8:38-40
February 20. Quite hot and humid again today, and hardly any wind. Very sweaty.
It was late when lotu got started this morning. People came quite late. Even at 7:30, the preacher wasn’t here so Daddy had Mike go ahead and take charge of the singing. By the time we finished singing, Tomas had arrived and he took over. Gave a good talk on I Corinthians 6:15-20 and chapter 3, verses 16 and 17. The people were really excited when Daddy announced to them that our friend would be coming for the 2014 New Year meetings. When lotu ended, there were about 34 people there.
Got started with school a little before 9:00. Almost everyone had a hard time sorting out words with long “oo”, like food, and the other sound of “oo”, like good. I was surprised that Dallas got every one correct.
They did lots of seatwork today so even though I got a lot of work corrected during class, I still had a lot to do this afternoon. It took most of the afternoon to finish that and record the grades. Then I started getting things ready for tomorrow. Still have a few papers to print out.
“14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:14,15
