A missionary at the Kudjjip Nazarene mission hospital in Papua New Guinea posted a video giving an overview of the work of MAF (Missionary Aviation Fellowship) in Papua New Guinea. This is a historical film and was produced for MAF in 1969 by Pilgrim Films Sydney. This was just 3 years before Dad and Mom first arrived on the field and 6 years before Papua New Guinea gained their independence.
Though filmed in 1969, this video still gives a good picture of life for missionaries in rural areas and the challenges faced by pilots in Papua New Guinea as the navigate rough terrain and face unusual weather patterns and changes. What is it like to land on a remote strip, to live in a village that has no access to the outside accept by airstrip, to fly in a mountainous country? Why not check out this video to find out. This video also contains some very interesting historical information. Hope you enjoy! God bless!
