May 21. Not quite as cold over night, but was overcast and chilly throughout the morning and early afternoon. Around mid-afternoon, the sun came out and the air warmed up more. I was happy to get out for a little walk around the yard. The ground is quite dry after almost three dry weeks with just a little rain.
Before school this morning, I worked on acknowledging supporters and getting the monthly update file ready to go to Christy.
In Bible class this morning, we reviewed for their test which will be on Thursday. Then the students enjoyed each having a turn to play the scale up and down the keyboard. After that, we practiced our hymn which they will sing on Sunday morning.
They got out of school early today as it didn’t take them long to do their science test. It was a blessing to me to eat early and have an early nap. After I went for a walk this afternoon, I finished up the grading and got things ready for school tomorrow. Then I worked more on the monthly updates. Also washed greens that Mora had brought yesterday and some onions to cook with them. Put them on to cook while I was preparing supper. Also cooked up some popo to have on my pancakes tomorrow and Friday mornings.
Apekio came this evening with a few potatoes and stayed and talked a little while. After she left, I started washing the dishes and Daddy finished them.
“And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.” Acts 4:33
May 22. Slept in until 6:30 this morning. The Lord gave us another dry day with a light rain shower this afternoon.
David gave a short message this morning on the work of the Holy Spirit and did a good job. Lotu finished early, and we started school around 8:30. It was nice to get an early start and finish early too.
I forgot to boil eggs for lunch, and there was no main dish made either. So I just scrambled up a couple eggs to use for our sandwiches. Then this afternoon, I cooked rice and made a meat gravy to go with it. Had cooked up the greens yesterday afternoon, and I had a couple pieces of corn left too.
Had a lot to do this afternoon - wash hair, finish grading and recording grades, get everything together for tomorrow, write things on the chalkboard, color the penguin on the 6-division chart and put it out in the schoolroom, put the new Bible and music lessons in the students’ notebooks, highlight Daddy’s Bible school notes at the places where the students fill in questions. Part of that work didn’t get done until after supper this evening.
“Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.” Acts 5:29
