The Lord was gracious and allowed just enough sun and break from the rain so that Dad and Mom could return to the village.
The Lord also provided a special type of modem for Dad and Mom. If it works correctly, they will be able to communicate with us via email while they are in the village. They should be able to email us once a week. If you would like to email them, you will find their email address on the Home page of this blog. Please note: They cannot get pictures on their email while they are in the village. Because of the blessing of this modem, I should be able to make regular and current updates on this blog.
Another blessing the Lord provided is a new computer. We are praying it will be of much help to the ministry and will run well so that I can make regular updates. I have not been able to update on a consistent basis for the last couple of months due to computer problems. Thank you for your prayers. Below is the last journal entry Mom sent before returning to the village.
From Mom:
June 22. Heard a little bit of rain the first part of the night last night, but didn’t hear any more after that. Neither did Daddy. There must have been a pretty good rain while we were sleeping, however, because the whole road was very wet and muddy this morning. However, there has been no rain today, and the Lord even gave us some sunshine this afternoon. What a joy it was to see the sunshine! Thank you, Lord, for being so gracious. There was enough sunshine to heat the water today, so I was able to wash my hair this afternoon and will be able to take a shower this evening.
Today was busy with packing, cleaning, writing e-mails, getting income report up-to-date, getting time put on the Digicel modem for the computer, going out to get a few last minute food items, going to the MAF hangar to get some cargo from there to take over to NTM. We went once and then had to go back again later, and had to wait a while even then. We weren’t able to get the cargo until early afternoon because MAF had a medivac — one of the pilot’s wives had to be taken to Moresby. Then the rest of the staff was in a meeting for several hours so the place was closed up. Only Matilda was there — in the office.
For supper, we had gotten meat pies at SVS. Tried to eat up all the leftovers along with the meat pies. I guess we ate most of them. Shouldn’t need any snack this evening.
“30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” John 20:30,31
