May 28. The Lord gave us another dry day today. There were some storm clouds around this afternoon, but they did not bring rain.
Since my granola was all gone, I had pancakes for breakfast again this morning. I was thankful to have some popo to put on them today. I need to make granola this evening. Thought I would get it done this afternoon while supper was cooking, but there were too many interruptions among all that had to be done.
We finished our Bible lesson in school this morning and started on the music lesson. The students also started their new phonics workbook today, learning clusters with silent letters - kn and wr. The last class of the morning was a new course - social studies, starting out with studying different types of land.
After school, Dallas and Phinehas practiced keyboard; Bethuel said his verses; and Esau and Bethuel started cutting firewood. After Dallas was done practicing keyboard, he joined the two who were cutting firewood.
It was going on 2:00 before we got to nap. Afterward, I starting getting things ready for supper. Had greens to sort and wash and onions to wash to be cut up with the greens. Then I sat down a while and did grading. After that, I put a pot of rice and lentils on to cook for my supper. Then washed and peeled potatoes and put on to cook for Daddy’s supper. While things were cooking, Phinehas came to say his Bible verses. And Angelina came to weed the flower garden.
I was thankful that Daddy offered to do the dishes this evening. So I came to sit down and rest a while before making the granola. Now I need to get that made plus get everything ready for school tomorrow. The Lord gave me a pretty good day today over all with more relief from pain than I have had for some time.
Amos and a group of others left today with coffee to take to Okapa.
“And there was great joy in that city…. But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.” Acts 8:8,12
May 29. The day has been dry, but there is a light rain right now this evening.
Tomas had charge of lotu this morning and taught on God searching us and knowing us, using Sam 139:1-7 as his text. He did a very good job.
It was good to see Sosthenes back in school today. He is feeling a lot better but not very strong yet.
Today was pretty much the opposite of yesterday physically. Had quite a lot of pain most of the afternoon. I thank the Lord for Daddy doing dishes for me again. I had planned to make cookies for him today and some crackers for myself but was not able to do that.
“1O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. 2Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. 3When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; 4What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? 5For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. 6Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: 7All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; 8The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. 9O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!” Psalm 8
