July 10. Another dry day with cold, strong winds and a mixture of clouds and sun.
In lotu this morning, Matthew continued his talk on the new creature, this time talking about a new mouth.
Bonita and Sunny did more cleaning after lotu. First they cleaned and washed the kitchen cupboards. Then they did the kitchen window, and windows and doors in the schoolroom. Last of all, they cleaned Connie’s bathroom.
Daddy and I sorted all the wood scraps into boxes, and Daddy bundled up bigger pieces of wood and wrapped them with package tape. Then the girls took all that down to the generator shed for us.
Daniel didn’t come today to finish putting the plastic around the kitchen window so Daddy and I finished that. We need to put the ooqdi frame back up and then we can put the curtains back up. I did some more sorting through boxes in Connie’s room. Have a ways to go yet as there is lots of school stuff in there that needs to be gone through.
SIL came this afternoon and left a drum of fuel here for the helicopter to use when it does shuttles for the local elections this coming Saturday. Daddy asked the pilot if there is someone at SIL who works on generators. He said there is and gave Daddy a number. Daddy tried to call, but couldn’t get through so will try again tomorrow. If someone can work on the generator for us right away, we can probably send it out on the helicopter on Saturday.
I sorted out one more box of stuff in Connie’s room this afternoon and then got Sunny’s math lessons ready for printing. Need to get several weeks ahead on those in case the generator does go out.
“….he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.” Acts 28:23b
July 11. It is almost 8:00. I just finished the next soul-winning lesson, and now it is time to write in my journal. Daddy is in Bible school with the men. A couple of the wives are here too.
It is quite chilly this evening, and a cold wind is blowing. We have a fire going in the wood stove this evening. It has been a very cool, dry day. The temperature was down to 50º this morning, and a hair below that. Will it be colder tomorrow morning?!?
The girls did not come to work today (I didn’t have any work for them to do today), but Daniel came. He finished tacking down the plastic around the kitchen window, put the ooqdi frame back around the window, put the hardware back up for the curtains. Then he put a piece of ooqdi in one corner of the bathroom where it was needed, and a piece to border the top of the wall above the freezer in the kitchen.
I sorted out things in Connie’s other tote. Later in the morning, Daddy turned on the generator, and I worked on the soul-winning lesson until almost dinner time. There were lots of interruptions so I didn’t really get a whole lot done.
For dinner, I made spaghetti pizza with the leftover spaghetti. It was going on 1:00 before we had dinner, and 1:30 before we got to nap. I slept until about 3:00.
This afternoon, we talked about prices for the clothes for the sale tomorrow, and I got the prices written on the chalkboard. Then I worked more on the soul-winning lesson until supper time.
“Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.” Acts 28:28
