February 15. It was a stay-indoors kind of day today. Wintery mix out there with light rain, snow, sleet, and ice.
Spent a good bit of time this morning searching for KJV gospel tracts on the internet and then made an order from Moments with the Book. Wrote a couple e-mails. Sent a file for printing to Christy and some pictures and journal notes to Connie Sue. Daddy and I read through our presentation script together to get an idea of about how long it would take.
This afternoon, Daddy and I checked over the translation of Matthew 13. And this evening, I started writing our quarterly newsletter.
February 16. It was a busy morning. Tuesday is laundry day, and I also had dishes to do. Then Daddy and I looked at houses on the internet for a while. Since the sun came out and it looked like such a nice day, we decided to go out and get some exercise. After we were all ready to go, however, I asked Daddy if we could go to the thrift stores in Gastonia again. I wasn’t able to find much there last time, but it had been quite a while since we went so maybe they had some new items.
Decided to go first to Goodwill. Yes, praise the Lord, they did have some new items. This time I found a couple jumpers and three blouses. We also found candle holders (which we hadn’t been able to find in any of the stores), an attractive mug with a snowman on it, and some sort of flat throw pillows which we’ll use for chair cushions. It was 12:30 when we left Goodwill so decided that was enough shopping for today.
Stopped at Subway for lunch and then took 85 so we could get gas in SC before heading home.
Answered a few e-mails and then had a late nap. After nap, I looked for some pictures for Connie to use in the Sunday school lessons and then answered her e-mail before getting supper. Cole slaw and spaghetti were on the menu for this evening.
After supper, I finished our quarterly newsletter and found and fixed pictures for it. Sent a text only file off to Christy to be printed for proofreading.
“6But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanseyour hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” James 4:6-10
