August 10. Raining this evening. We are thankful for a little extra sunshine today, mixed in with some clouds and icy air. The Lord sent us rain and a rainbow this afternoon. Late afternoon there was an unusual bright foggy sky, and the sun could be seen through the fog as a round ball that looked more like a moon.
The kids had their Bible test this morning, and then we played a quiz game — two teams, three against four. The three-team won by two points.
We went ahead and had science class today since I saw the need to have it three days a week, rather than only two. That gives them more time to grasp the material and be able to answer the questions.
After nap today, I did grading and worked on lesson plans for next week. Have been working on lesson plans this evening too. Just about done with English and then have math and science to plan.
Made another pizza for supper and used up the leftover spaghetti sauce. This time I did a top-of-stove pizza so I could cook it on the wood stove and not have to use the gas. It worked well, and tasted just as good as the oven pizza.
“11Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 12Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.” 1 Peter 2:11,12
