April 30. Last day of the month. A rainy day. I thought during the night that it would probably rain today because it was so warm all night.
After lotu, Daddy spent some time talking with Matthew and David.
After lotu, I put the finishing touches on the next soul-winning lesson - places for blanks, additional Bible verses, proofreading. Then Daddy and I went out for a walk around 11:00. The rain had stopped for a while, but we could see and hear the rain in the forest just beyond the airstrip. We enjoyed a nice walk to the top of the airstrip and back home.
When we got back, I started getting the students’ math and Bible lessons ready for next week. Worked on that until it was time to warm up dinner.
It started raining again while we were eating so Daddy got the fire going again before nap. This afternoon, I finished getting the students’ lessons in order and then cut Daddy’s hair. Worked on the next Bible lesson for school until supper time.
Youth should be coming soon for youth meeting.
“13Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.” II Peter 3:13,14
Please pray for the pastors, Matthew and David, to be encouraged and to not be weary in well doing. Thanks.
May 1. Mostly cloudy again today and some rain too.
Kept busy today alternating between cleaning jobs and computer jobs. Got the desktops all cleaned up and papers put away or thrown away. Daddy helped me hang up some pictures and other decorative items. Finished cleaning out a box of craft items.
Finished the next Bible lesson for school, covering John 3:10-21. It was an encouraging study. I enjoy writing all the lessons, as I learn or am reminded of so many wonderful truths that refresh the heart and mind. Also checked over the rest of John 3 and made a few little revisions. That will be for the next lesson.
Daddy and I started out for a walk around 10:00 this morning. The trail was too muddy after the rain yesterday, however, and I was afraid of falling. So I turned around and came back. Daddy went on and finished his walk.
Later this afternoon, I made biscuits for my supper.
Just finished printing more Bible school lessons as I somehow miscounted the other evening. Wilson is here now for his Bible school lesson.
“17Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. 18But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” II Peter 3:17,18
May 2. When I woke up this morning, daylight was already shining through the curtains. I looked at the clock and it was almost 6:30. I hadn’t intended to sleep in, but Daddy didn’t wake me up. He said it would be my last chance to sleep in before school starts again. It was late before I got to sleep last night too. The moths wanted to come to bed with me, and then a skunk bug landed on my pillow. Yuk!
The Lord gave us another mostly cloudy-all-day day. Since we were still getting rain, it was still too wet for me to go walking. And this evening, it rained pretty hard while Daddy was trying to teach Bible school.
I did not do much cleaning today. Spent most of my time at the computer. Wrote a few e-mails. Started writing the next newsletter. Started writing April progress report. And started setting up another Bible school lesson for Wilson. (He came this afternoon for another class session.) Got the memory verse reminders for next week ready to print. Looked for the song I wanted to print. Finally found it. Got the verses and song printed out this evening. Had to print more lessons for Bible school too as a few more people were here this evening and paid their Bible school fee. Also did laundry this evening.
Made a deep-dish pizza for our dinner, filling it with the leftover spaghetti, pumpkin, and spaghetti sauce, and cheese, of course. Also sorted and washed a bunch of greens that Mora had brought yesterday, cut up some onion to cook with them, and added a little bit of uxai which Taro had brought this morning. Put all that on to cook while the pizza was in the oven.
“And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.” I John 1:4
