October 26. It is after 6:30. I just got done in the kitchen and am happy to sit down. No rain last night or today other than some little sprinkles. This morning before school, I worked on organizing my song file so I can see what other songs to choose for the choir to sing during the New Year’s meetings. (I’d really like to write some more to go with the theme of the meetings – The Last Days, the Great Tribulation, God’s judgments, etc.) After opening prayer in Bible class this morning, I had the students write notes to their families inviting them to the closing program for the school next Friday. Then they practiced all their verses and songs to sing during the program. They harmonize and sing so well, and sound like a nice youth choir. Too bad there isn’t someone to work with them and teach them music.
In English class, we did some writing, had a spelling quiz, and learned some more consonant blends.
In science class, we looked at some more stones. Esau had a white stone that looked like it might have chalk in it. So we did the test that was suggested in the little book on rocks and minerals and it showed positive for chalk. Most of the other stones, we have pretty much been guessing as to what they are. A lot of them do have mica in them, and some have quartz. Most of them appear to be a mixture of different types. Esau had another rock that had a clear print of a flower on it.
After nap, I graded the writing pages and the spelling quiz. Then worked more on organizing the songs. Closer to supper time, I made orange sugar cookies for Daddy. Then got supper and did dishes.
“28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
