October 3. Going on 7:00 p.m. The house is very quiet and lonely. When Daddy is gone, things get so quiet after the students get out of school. Light rain is falling now. Praise the Lord for a nice morning so Daddy could get to town. The plane came around 10:30 a.m. We were in the middle of our math game in school, but three of the students left for a few minutes to carry Daddy’s cargo up to the airstrip.
We were up at 5:30 this morning to do laundry. Last chance to wash clothes until Daddy gets back home. Had them all washed and hung out by a little after 7:00. Then had time to sit in the recliner and close my eyes for a while, as well as read my Bible and pray.
Practiced keyboard for a few minutes before school started. Today was singing day in Bible class. After Bible verse review, we went over “God I Wokim Olgeta Samting” (God Created All Things) a few times, reviewed “Olgeta Promis Bilong God I Tru”, (Every Promise of God is True) and then took a look at “Sanap Long ol Promis” (Standing on the Promises).
The students got their new phonics and reading workbooks today, and we had some hoorays for the books we finished.
While my dinner was warming up at noon, I went out and brought in the clothes. Ate dinner, then back to school for spelling and English class. Before nap, I got the shirts, blouses and dresses hung up in the closet. After nap, I finished grading today’s work—English and Spelling—and then worked on next week’s lesson plans until time to get supper. Yeye came just before supper and brought some nice potatoes. We haven’t had any potatoes for quite a while. Hadn’t seen Yeye in many moons. I think the last time was in January when she came for some of the New Year meetings.
Had to make some tortillas for my supper. Took my bath right after supper before it would get too cool in here.
“For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.” Leviticus 11:45
October 4. It has been a quiet day. Woke up about 5:45 this morning. Warmed up the last two pancakes for breakfast. Daddy called around 6:40. I was happy to hear his voice. Had time to read Bible and pray before people arrived for lotu. Mike continued his teaching on the family this morning, using some verses from Proverbs on correcting the child.
After lotu, I cleaned out the drum in the corner of our bedroom by my side of the bed. It had stuff in it from last year’s school closing program and I found a lot of things that we need to use for our closing program this year. Found a couple strings of bright, sparkling stars so they won’t have to make stars. Found some flannel sheets too that can be sold. We don’t use them.
Most of the rest of the morning was spent getting the rest of next week’s lesson plans done. About 11:30, I went outside in the sunshine for a while. Had planned to go out earlier, but cool winds and clouds came up. That was pretty much the pattern for the morning—sunshine, clouds, sunshine, clouds. When I came back in, I boxed up the things I took out of the drum. Then had lunch and got ready for nap. Was startled by a rat in the bathroom as I was getting ready. What was he doing out this time of day? He did not look very lively so apparently has eaten some poison.
Was hoping to get outside again this afternoon, but the weather turned cool and cloudy. A little rain in the afternoon, but raining pretty hard this evening.
Most of the rest of the afternoon was spent photo-copying, scanning, and printing. There certainly was a lot of that type of work to do this weekend.
Shut down the computer a little before 5:00 and organized all the papers I had printed. Had supper, did up the few dishes that I had used today, and had my bath. Collated and punched the papers that had been prepared.
“9And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Revelation 12:9-11
