August 26. Whew! It is 9:15 already. Just finished the dishes, and it is time to sit down again.
Not much sun again today. Lots of fog this morning. A little rain and very humid and stuffy this afternoon. It must have rained steadily for about eight hours yesterday, starting late afternoon and on into the night. It was still raining when I got up just before 1:00 a.m.
I was thankful to have a little time before school to start writing a music lesson for this week.
The students started a new chapter in math today. This chapter is on long division so I encouraged them to get a good grasp of the rules for long division. Steve especially has had trouble with long division so I was happy to see that he did well today and seems to finally be getting it.
Then we started a new science book, Patterns of Nature, and the first lesson is about the four season. The students seemed to enjoy learning about that, and we’ll continue the lesson on Thursday.
Had a good long nap again today. Seems like I need a lot of extra sleep right now until I finish getting well.
After nap, I graded the students’ math drills. That didn’t take long. Then I got things ready for tomorrow’s lessons, and then did some work on the next soul-winning lesson, starting to get that into outline form.
After supper, I read the e-mails that Daddy got in this morning and then started writing some letters that have been waiting to be answered. Took time out for a bath before the evening got too cool. Then I finished up the letters and wrote an e-mail to Christy and Connie. After that, I did the dishes.
“And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” Exodus 20:6
August 27. Lots of rain during the night. Very wet and foggy this morning. We thought people would be quite late for lotu, but they weren’t too late. Matthew continued teaching in Acts 9 this morning, verses 10-18.
NTM came in this morning after the fog lifted and spent most of the day getting the fuselage ready to sling out to Goroka. The weather turned foggy, cloudy, and rainy again this afternoon and looked like it might close in before they could get off from here. Praise the Lord, he kept this area open enough for them to leave. It was about 4:30 when they left here - the helicopter first, with the fuselage in tow, to make sure that he was not going to have to turn back - and then the plane as soon as they knew that everything was okay with the helicopter.

It was nice to finish classes early today, have an early lunch and an early nap. Had a good amount of grading to do this afternoon after nap. Didn’t have much time to work on it in class today. Daddy didn’t have a nap, but went back up to the airstrip and was needed there to help with some of the work, getting the fuselage ready for the helicopter.
After doing the grading, I got things together for tomorrow’s classes, did a little cleaning in the guest room and guest bathroom, and started making tortillas for my supper.

August 28. Whew! Here it is just about 9:30 already.
We are thankful for the sunshine the Lord gave us today after a couple rainy days.
I’m thankful for the Lord’s help in getting the next soul-winning lesson finished today too. Worked on it a bit before school this morning, then while supper was in the oven this afternoon, and again after supper until it was done. Then I printed out a copy for Daddy to proofread so I can make the students’ copies.
SIl came around 1:00 this afternoon. We were just finishing our lunch. They were training a new NTM pilot and also took out a load of coffee. Daddy went up to the airstrip. I waited a while for him to come back. But he didn’t come so I finally went for my nap.
All I had to do for school this afternoon was get lessons ready for tomorrow. Then I had to fix a meal for this evening. Decided to make a tuna-veggie pie so prepared a panful of uxai, carrots, and onions. While the veggies were cooking, I got the crust made, cut up some tomatoes (Reson had brought some little tomatoes yesterday, and Mora brought some this morning). Prepared a white sauce to add to the pie, and opened a can of tuna. By the time, I was done with all that, the veggies were done so I put everything into the pie crust and put it in the oven. It was about 6:00 before supper was ready this evening.
About 8:00, I had my bath, then a snack, and then put water on for dishes. Played keyboard a few minutes while dishwater was heating and again after washing part of the dishes. I was thankful for Daddy’s help in doing up the rest of the dishes.
“12Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 13For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 14How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” Hebrews 9:12-14
