January 28. A quiet day today. Washed dishes first thing this morning because they didn’t get done last night. Wrote a couple e-mails. Wrote some letters to go in the packet to PNG and got the packet all ready to be mailed tomorrow. Did a little crocheting and finished the red hat. This evening, we checked Matthew chapter 9.
January 29. It was into the wee hours of the morning before I ever got to sleep last night. My head just didn’t feel right when I lay it down on the pillow so could not get comfortable. It was almost 7:00 when I got up this morning.
Daddy went out around mid-morning to mail the packet to PNG and get a few groceries. Then this afternoon, we both went out. First to South Mountain Farms Market to get some meat. Then to the thrift store to find a chair pad. (Didn’t find one, but I did find a blue shirt, a jumper pattern, and some yarn for $1.00/skein.) Our next stop was the Ambassador Baptist College book store. Then Mel and Ellen’s to look at some furniture that Mel had planned to take to the flea market. (Looks like we can use most of what he has.) And last of all to C&C’s house for supper. We were supposed to meet "C" too, but she never showed up. ("C" is a Jehovah's Witness lady to whom Christy and Connie have been witnessing). Connie made potato/tomato soup for supper and fixed a fruit salad for dessert. We didn’t stay long because Daddy is feeling unwell with a cold.
“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” I Timothy 3:16
January 30. Today’s work time was given to planning a new prayer card and a letterhead for our newsletters. After Christy and Connie came late morning, we took a ride down to Grover and looked at a house for rent. Came back and had lunch and nap. Then we went out again. Christy needed to stop at Ingles to get some tomato sauce for her pizza. It was going on 5:00 when we got back. I set right to work preparing potatoes and a beef roast to put in the oven for supper. After getting that into the oven, I cut up broccoli and cauliflower to cook on top of the stove. Then I did the dishes - LOTS of them. I was certainly glad to sit down when all that was done. The roast took a long time getting done so we ate potatoes and veggies for supper and had some of the roast later. It tasted so good. Sliced it up for sandwiches and put half into the freezer for later. This evening, we played a game together; and before C&C went home, we read a Psalm and prayed. My sister had called earlier in the evening to see if we had gotten our package and to share some prayer requests.
